ENGINE REMOVAL?

Engine removal from a truck should never be as hard as these guys made it out to be. However, it makes for one of the best (and worst) automotive fails ever caught on camera.

Apparently everything was going fine. The engine was hoisted and out of the way. A tow rig was in place and hooked up to pull the now heartless patient off the table. But there was one thing they forgot to do which became increasingly obvious as the tow rig pulled. Damn speedometer cables always messin' up ...................

Hey Ricky,Please, manners? I didn't post this to be critical of anyone's auto-maker preference. Sorry about the demise of Pontiac, especially since my bro-inlaw retired from that company. My Dad worked for Ford for many years, finally got a better deal and went to Chrysler, retired with 30 years. I have been in automotive all my life and taught it in a vocational school for 14 years before I retired. I have seen this type of real life situation many times and it just amazes me how people can screw up something so simple. I don't want to sound like a vindictive smart ass, but just look at the mess our automotive companies are in, and check out which company is still surviving without Government aid. And yes, I am a Ford man. I own seven! My first car was a 49 Ford 2 dr, first truck was a 36 Ford pickup, first new car, 66 Mustang, first new truck-71 F-250. My daily driver is a Focus ZX5, my truck that pulls my car-hauler, and my boat is a 400 HP Lightning. I have 2 streetrods, 23 T and a 46 Ford pickup, also have a 67 and a 69 Ford F-100s, also an 88 F-150 work truck. All have Ford power and they all run very well.

I have watched Hubby pull motors out of a lot of cars, The most celebrated, was when my 3.8 came out of my Regal! I danced a little jig around the pathetic thing when it came out of the car. The motor in Kool Kat has been pulled three times in the last six years, and both of the "donor" cars for my Regal, one of those "donars" was out of a 81 Silverado, he said out of all the motors he has pulled, that was the easiest, it was the transmission out of it that was the bitch! Our son Built an A frame in welding class several years ago, and that sure makes engine pulling a breeze. It's heavier than anything, but easily dismantles for storage. In all those engine hoists, not once has he experienced anything like the morons in the video!!!
