Sorry Yankee but I have been PROMOTING this cruise for over 4 months on 5 group sites. There are sticky messages on several with all the details. But for you the cruise leaves out of Miami on July 5 for 7 days stopping at Cozumel (maybe) Grand Cayman, Isle Roatan, Honduras, and Belize City Belize. The prices, accommodations and all that are posted in the Group = 50+ Singles Cruise and SKITS . I am not a travel agent and am not advertising. Still it is an imposition to the group if I post the full details every time there is an update. If you need help finding the details, let me know.
Good news! Carnival just discounted the going rate for our cruise. This means those that have already signed on have a lower rate. however, since they try very hard not to give back any money already paid.....those that have already signed on have been upgraded to a Balcony cabin and will get a little money back. So the party continues.......
I will be gone May 17- June 16 but will be sporatically checking e-mail. Jina Ward, our travel agent will be gone May 13 to May 20 and will not be returning calls until she gets back. Anyone now wanting to go can wait until May 20. Or if you call in now you need to tell whoever works with you that Jina Ward is your agent and your group booking number is 87FK34. Otherwise you will not be in the group and if something goes bad or good, I can't help you.
Since I signed up for a balcony room in the first place, perhaps they'll discount my rate a bit and refund some. I'll ask Jina. That would help a lot, since they billed me for the whole cabin, more than twice what y'all got billed.
I think Jina took off a day early, since she didn't return my calls today.
Another surprise. When I tried to confirm the hotel rooms I was told since the cruise is smaller then planned and we did not need the number of rooms reserved, the price of the rooms would be higher....
I am fairly good at math but it seems I do not understand economics of tourism at all? now with economic conditions where they are the cruise lines just started discounting for the summer crowd. Seems to me if there are less cruisers then there would be less need for rooms in cruise towns? I checked on line and found several very nice places with better rates then I had. The Courtyard Marriott said they would not cut their rates. I cancelled all the reservations.
For those going and those planning to attend the cast-off party; we are now staying at the Miami Airport Marriott. We had to upgrade from a three star to a four star hotel to get the lower rate....which includes breakfast, transportion from the airport and to the ship....For those going I will email your confirmations to you. For those just coming to party, the hotel is 1201 NW LeJeune Rd in Miami. Resturaunt and bar on site but we are looking into heading to South Beach for the fireworks. Let me know who is coming.
I'm coming to the party, and I'll make a rez at that new hotel sp I can sleep it off.

PS: To get my fun pass using Carnival's website, I had to call and get an individual booking number. The group booking number won't do it.
Just got off the Holland America Noordam in Rome, Couple of days and we are off on the Costa Romantica.....After the pace of this trip we will be ready for the wild seas of the caribbean! OLE!
I wish I can go- oh well, maybe next year!
Lisa, I doubt there will be another one next year. I will not be organizing one and no one else seems to be interested in taking on the load.
