My First SKIT

I went to my first SKIT from a group on Eons this past weekend. I had a great time and met some wonderful people.

I was somewhat nervous and apprehensive about meeting strange people from the internet, but it was just like meeting old friends or family.

If you get the opportunity to go to a SKIT and can financially afford to do so please put that nervousness aside and jump in and go. I'm so glad I didn't give in to my fears.

From what I learned at the SKIT, most Host or Hostesses try to put together a varity of things to do. They also try to keep cost at a minimum so people can afford to participate in the SKITS.

I'm thinking of having a SKIT in Louisville in the fall, when racing at Churchill Downs resumes in the fall.

Patti, what great news! I'm so glad you got to do a SKIT. It is a nice way to meet people you've become at least slightly acquainted with. I hope to do more SKITS in the future, myself. So was this the Kentucky SKIT I've read about?

I think SKIT's are wonderful & I do hope to be able to attend more in the future. My first one was one that I organized for the Texas Friends group. We had a great time. My second one was the mini-SKIT here over NYE when HB, Lynaz & I had the opportunity to get acquainted face-to-face, plus meet a few more of our AES members.
I think you just have to pick & chose based on location & the anticipated cost. Some will certainly be more costly than others & you don't want to cause yourself anxiety by trying to do more than you can comfortably afford.
Good for you Patti! Hopefully more will move out of their comfort zone & try this soon.

I hope that I have the pleasure of attending a SKIT. As being widowed, a lot of us have "Get-Togethers" almost every week all around the country. A few of them that I have attended had a speaker of some sort (doctor, lawyer, accountant, etc.) so that the widowed folks had a professional to help them along as they travel the road of being single again. The rest of the weekend was a "party" of sorts ... BBQ's, visiting city landmarks, dancing ... whatever. I'm so ready!!! Just let me know and I'm there!!!

HB....that was the Kentucky Skit....it was just 65 miles from me. I had such a good time. I am thinking of trying to have one here in Louisville some time in the future.
