As a new author I am so excited when that royalty check comes each quarter even though it is not paying me much of anything. The couple of book signings I was able to do before I had my surgery were not all that fabulous but they weren't busts anyway. But what amazed me was when I got the PM that someone had read the excerpt I had posted in the Book Gallery and was going to buy 2 copies. I was, of course, ecstatic. I am sure there are many more such stories out there.

As one of the moderators of this group, how about this as a topic of discussion? I think it is one that should strike a cord in most of us.

Let's hear from more of you that have sold books through Eons.

I have sold about three books that I know of due to eons members. At least one of them has given me a review on an online bookstore. I have bought 2 books so far of eons members and will do a review soon.

I'm certain that my friends on Eons were responsible for hundreds of sales of my novel, My Sister's Keeper. THANKS EONS!

Yeah, I've had a few sales thanks to Eons members too. Probably the bulk of the few sales I've had, actually.

Unless an eons member PMs us or posts a review or a comment about reading our books we can't be sure how many sales were due to eons members. My book, being about travel is considered a "niche" book. When I finally get around to finishing my spy novel I will have more sales.

I agree with platform5. If people don't tell you they are reading your books you don't know enough to feel good. I only make $2.00 per book, so money at this point is a non-factor. My thrill comes when the reader tells me how much they loved it.

What I want most is that thet tell others about my trilogy. Asking me for more, to continue my story gives me great satisfaction. Actually, that is why I started writing "Paper Flowers" because people asked for it. If an author is not a celebrity or doesn't have connections, it is the readers that can be the biggest help in getting an author noticed.
