Among other things, the Nano lacks passive restraints & air bags which add significant cost, weight and complexity to our cars -- As Nano recognizes, they are not necessary if all wear seat belts and our cars would benefit from their exclusion -- Our cars are VASTLY overweight and overpriced; being burdened with unnecessary frills and luxury features -- We could easily have domestically produced $ 4000 cars if the Government would either get out of the way OR get it right!

In 1969 I bought a Dodge pick-up full cab (seating for three) slant 6, Three speed transmission with a 6 foor cargo box. I could get over 26 miles per gallon, depending on how I drove. I paid $1850 for this truck. In 2004 I bought a "93 Dodge Dakota V-6 Club cab, used for $4500, It is 2/3s the size of my '69, this one is also a 4x auto trans, power steering and power brakes. I can beary get 20 miles per gallon. It wil sit 2 adults amd maybe two kids in the back seat area. Getroit build cars and trucks that we wanted and did so very well. No one forced to buy what Detroit built for we also bought Jappanese, German, English, etc We have only our selves to blame ( if that is the correct work) to what has come about. I am sorry v123 I do not buy your hogwash about weight, etc.
