Our State Bird

Yes, Montana is a great place in the Spring. I love my State. Living in an urban setting in the big city of Missoula, the one thing I really miss is the sound of the Western Meadow Lark. I miss that greatly. They used to serenade us royally.

What happened to our State Bird. Is it still serenading those in the rural area's?

I haven't seen (or heard) a meadowlark since I moved to Montana. We had lots of them on the farm in SD. I think Bozemans "city" bird is the magpie. There are lots of them. elayns

I know s State Legislator , a few years back, tried to make the magpie our State Bird, but he was not elected for another term.
