I wish someone had replied to your message. I am trying to decide between the two Tuscany archaeological digs. Seaside or living on site with a pool? They both look wonderful. I guess we will have to be good about posting our experiences when we get back. Happy travels.
Wow! You've been everywhere with Earthwatch. Roman Fort on Tyne was my first. Probably coastal Tuscany is next year for me. Happy travels also.
Hi, Brittany -- I've been on the Discovering Italy's Ancient Coast and it is FABULOUS. I highly recommend it. I went last year with 3 friends. We went in September and basically took another week or so before and after the trip to do other traveling. Carolina and the team are wonderful to work with. Their explanations of archeological methods are the best I've heard so far. We had a great time cooking with them, too, almost like digging plus Italian cooking lessons. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. My friends and I are also Roman buffs - we did Tyne. We've also done a Peru trip which is no longer offered and the Thailand Origins of Angkor.
Ha! I just joined the group and realized the YEAR of your posting. Hope you got to go.
