MOTIVATION FOR APRIL
TEAMWORK
Caring for a loved one with dementia is very a difficult task. The one person usually forgotten and neglected is the caregiver.
Teamwork is our motivational thought for April. I encourage each of you to reach out for help caring for you loved one. Family members, friends or professionals can relieve the caregiver and is a necessity. Enlist all help you can. Have them spend a day with you in your shoes; you might say give them ‘on the job training.’ Set schedules for helpers, giving yourself time off.
The picture is the caregiver’s pyramid. You will see the vital layers of this pyramid for the well being of the caregiver. The one layer you don’t see is “Time for Guilt.” Never feel guilty for asking for help for your loved one.
