VERONICA and MONICA

Hayden and Carson
Veronica and Monica arrived at the shelter together and they are both terrified. They sit huddled together in their igloo and will not come out. We placed their food bowls inside of the igloo so that they would at least be able to eat (they are too scared to leave the security of the igloo because they know the other dogs surrounding them will begin barking once they are spotted.) Veronica & Monica both need to be rescued ASAP! Sadly, dogs who are too frightened to interact with the public as people walk past their kennels are normally the first to be PTS.

I wonder if Monica is Veronica's daughter?

Veronica
Veronica (formerly Carson): Veronica arrived on 03-12-09. She is a reddish brown Shar Pei mix, beautiful girl. We still have not caught Veronica outside of her kennel. She is still extremely scared & frightened. She is a very sweet girl, who loves her kennelmate Monica. They are very bonded and comfort one another in times of fear. Ironically, we always assumed that Veronica was the “caretaker” of the two, but it was little Monica who ventured outside of the igloo first. (#667) Heartworm positive

Monica
Monica arrived on 03-12-09 by AC. She is a Shepherd mix. She & Veronica arrived at the shelter together and they are both terrified. They sit huddled together in their igloo and will not come out. Luckily, Monica has Veronica to protect her...You will notice that Monica hides behind Veronica for protection & comfort. We placed their food bowls inside of the igloo so that they would at least be able to eat (They are too scared to leave the security of the igloo because they know the other dogs surrounding them will begin barking once they were spotted.) Monica (formerly Hayden): Monica has ventured out of her kennel. Luckily, we were able to catch this with a photo. She is still extremely scared & frightened, but she is making progress by leaving the “comfort” of her igloo. She is a very sweet girl, who loves her kennelmate Veronica. They are very bonded and comfort one another in times of fear. (#663) Heartworm negative
