I'm glad you enjoyed your stay here in AZ. My hubby and I moved here from MI in 1980 and have loved it here.
I remember my first year here. We got here in November and I thought it was so wonderful. I spent the entire winter in shorts, sandles and tank tops. For New Years Eve, we spent it around a camp fire with some good friends.
As the years have gone by things have changed. I no longer wear shorts and sandels in the winter. Now it's sweats, socks and warm shoes. We can always tell the people who are here from back East. They are the ones in the shorts in the winter now.

Summer is hot as is most of the US at that time of year. Air conditioning and travel north helps. A slower pace takes over because heat does suck energy from you meaning you are not going to be taking walks at 5P but waiting until 8P. Coming from the east, I can attest to how wonderful it is to walk outside without first putting on a jacket and long pants and gloves and a hat and boots. Winter is cool here but the days are beautiful.
