We put JMJ on all our papers but I think it went in the middle of the page at the top.
Us too, at the top of the middle of every paper. Except we had to put another J under the M for St. Julia who I think was the patron saint of the Sisters of Notre Dame ... ?
We didn't weren't told to say anything when we went under the desks for air raid drills ... but I'm sure if it was a real one, we would have all been praying!
Forgot all about that. Thanks.
Ok. I 'googled' the sisters and found it was St. Julie Billiart, Foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
So, for us it was Jesus, Mary and Joseph, w/St. Julie Billiart under them ...
We also used JMJ at St. Pat's. Later, probably in high school, I remember "AMDG" at the top of papers which I think meant(in Latin) "All for the Honor and Glory of God".
I don't remember having to write JMJ on our paperwork but I do recite "JESUS, Mary and Joseph, we love you, save souls", as I pray my Rosary.
Yes we also wrote JMJ on our papers. If an ambulance passed school with red lights and sirens we also said Jesus, Mary & Joseph protect those who are in need.
JMJ--Yep! Right in the middle of every page. One of our nuns used to use the other abbreviation, too, but mostly, it was JMJ. In fact, I used that at the top of many letters I wrote (actually wrote, didn't e-mail--LOL) for many, many years after finishing school.
Ours had to be centered at the top of the page plus you had to make a small cross over the letter m
we too had to put JMJ with a cross on top in the middle of our papers. also does anyone remeber at the end of a regents exam we had to put
we also put JMJ with a cross on top. does anyone remember having to write at the end of a regents exam - " i do declare" and then signed your name underneath. this was our vow that we didnot cheat on the exam.
