I made a little booboo, so I'm reposting! How To Copy and Paste:
There are more than one way to do it. You can use your mouse and "right click", use keyboard short cuts, or use the menu bar. For all of them, you will first need to highlight the text you want to copy:
Highlighting Text: Take your mouse, and place your cursor at the beginning of the text you want to copy, then click and hold the left mouse button, while pulling your mouse over the text. When you reach the end of what you want to copy, release the left mouse button. This should highlight the text.
Here are the three ways of copying and pasting what you highlighted:
"Right Click" method:
When the text is highlighted, click the button on the right side of your mouse (Right click the mouse). A pop-up box will appear. Select 'copy'. This stores the information in your computor memory.
Click where you want to paste the code. Right click your mouse again, and select 'paste'.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
To Copy: Highlight an area, as described above, then hold 'Ctrl' and click on the letter 'C' (For Mac users, hold the key to the right of the space bar and click on the letter 'C').
To Paste: Click your mouse where you want the text pasted, and then press 'Ctrl' + 'V' (For Mac users, hold the key to the right of the space bar and click on the letter 'V').
Using the Menu Bar:
Highlight the text. Go to the menu bar of your browser. Click on 'File' and then click on 'copy'. Click on your page where you want to paste the info. Then go to the menu bar. Click on 'File' and then click on 'paste'.
Sometimes, the ability to copy and paste using "right click" is disabled on a web page, but usually you can use the keyboard short cuts or the menu bar methods.
Just pick the way of the three that is easiest for you!
Yep, I usually use the keyboard shot cuts because I had used a one button mouse for so long. BTW, I forgot to include that if you have a one button mouse on a Mac you can hold down the control key and "left click" to get a list of options.
Hey, I just found a video on youtube that shows the process in a simple to understand manner - I even learned a neat little trick at the end that I didn't know.
I'm going to see if I can find some other videos by this fellow! Have Fun!
good, Mimi, I will add, that you can "what we call url harvesting" by adding a space, then adding another url in the browser textarea, I have collected as many as 10, at one time..
Great tips! I hadn't thought about using the textareas on eons as a temp notepad. That could come in real handy! I'm not sure I understand about the URL harvesting, though. Where is the browser textarea that your talking about? Is that where you put the URL addresses?
