M sister lives in AU (Bryon's Bay), which is on the other side of the fires. I received a picture from her of a young Koala that had wandered over to a woman's yard and into a large, wooden water container, climbed in, and sat in the cool water for quite a spell. The poor thing. There was a young girl standing at the wooden container, hands in the water and I remembered hearing about how dangerous a Koala can be, as they are still wild animals. But, I think the animal was so glad to get a respite from the heat that his priority was on cooling off. Unfortunately, many of the Eucalyptus trees were damaged in the fires, so the food source has been damaged.
