Hello Faye-welcome. I volunteered in South Africa at the Kalahari Meerkat Project, but then went on safari to the Sabi Sands next to Kruger Park. It was a fabulous experience. And after being on safari, I would definitely want either the Elephant, Lion or Cheetah project next. Good luck -- these expeditions change your life!

I volunteered on the Tsavo Elephants project in Kenya two years ago and loved it. The wildlife is amazing. The PI and staff are great. The lodging is very comfortable and you can sit on your bed and watch a water hole right in front of you. Wonderful experience.

The Tsavo Elephant project was fantastic. Long days in the Land Rover but the wildlife is amazing and the accommodations are very comfortable. This research has been ongoing for years and it was wonderful to be a part of it. If you have specific questions, please feel free to post them.
