Anne,

glad ya like the neighborhood.

saw your other post about the eMac and the Mini. I have a Mini and I just gave it a $220 upgrade by having its RAM upgraded to 2gb and its harddrive upgraded to a sizzling 720rm 320gb monster! Wish I could say I did it myself, ut alas, I write checks etter than I handle screwdrivers, so I sent it via Fedex to Other World Computing and they did all the labor, and Fedexed it ack to me within 1 business day of getting it.

That should get me another 3-4 years of good use from it.

I've had it for about 3 years already.

Great computer.......!

I'd like this group better if Garageband 09 didnt have guest musicians teach. I aint going to by it. Garageband keeps getting worse and worse. I have 75 DVDs already on how to play guitar by the worlds best guitarists. All those mindles Garageband guest musicians and the studio part is a can of worms by the way. This is Apple. You should be able to hand over to Spieberg the next soundtrack to his movie blindfolded while making pancakes.

Garageband is so disappointing. Ebay also went south. Is there anything good anymore?

Great computers, great camaraderie, what's not to like? :-D Oh, yes, GarageBand. Haven't done anything with that myself. My inner rock star has been delighted just to feast on familiar favorites while pounding the pedals of an elliptical at the Y. And it's cool to surf YouTube for music videos from age past.

I've never used GarageBand, probably never will. I know how to play the guitar (acoustic folk stuff) a little bit already and also play the five string banjo. My real love (other than art which I do better, I'm really not much of a musician), is Barbershop music. I've sung in a chorus and with quartets for almost 30 years. Anyone that knows about music, that is HARD stuff to do. You not only have to sing without musical accompaniment and not drop pitch, but the notes (or your part) has to be extremely accurate. And we don't sing just stupid stuff anymore. Check out some on YouTube and you'll see.

Our music teacher used GarageBand as a reward. The students could sign up to stay after school and use her four eMacs to make their own songs and burn them to CDs. Parents were mighty impressed with their kids. So was the music teacher.
