Have you ever thought about the words ‘never again’ and what they really mean?
Never, ever again?
I have….
I’ve thought about never hearing the song of the wolf.. the cry of the new born child…Never again the warm hug of a loved one… NEVER!
Never is a long time…Never is a large and painful hole in the heart. A sadness which lies just beneath the surface. Never again means unchanging. Never means loss.
I will never again see my big red dog! She is gone.. My mamma dog.. Never again will she come running up to me to say doggie gotcha… no more slurpy doggy kisses… no more pack greetings when I come home… No more helping the emom dig a hole… no more watching to see what game emom will invent just for the joy of playing.. no more chasing Spud all over the yard and fields trying to grab his tail… Never again the counting of little noses to make sure all are in and safe for the nite… No more of the Newbie grabbing her tail feathers and bringing the big red to a dead stop… Her laffter is gone and I will miss her. She is/was my friend….She will be waiting for me…
Now, she is playing with Andrew, and Heidi, and Chupa… running the creek and the hills… Have a good time and enjoy…
Never again, though, can still be a good thing. Never again, war… nor hatred …

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Come on in and set a spell… help self to coffee and all that stuff… Get warm! The snow has stopped finally but the shady side of the mountain roads are still covered with an icy mix… 2” give or take…. Can you say: slippery? Sun is out but it might take a week or more for the shady spots to thaw…
There are two ways to get off the mountain in this weather… Slide down and hope you stay on the road and out of the ditch.. The second way is to slide off the road and roll the rest of the way down… Ditch ain’t too bad… It’s the 900+ foot drop and stop when the second way occurs.
Getting back home ain’t too bad … the neighbors will come along eventually with a tractor and drag me back up slope. Gee! To think I didn’t know all this when I moved from the city… lolol
I have found a puppy… I hope to get it tomorrow… A lil girl Great Pyrenese. Her is 8 weeks old… Gonna meet the guy tomorrow at the two pumper… Now I will need a name for her… but I gots to see her first… Should I hold a contest “name the new puppy?” or should I name her for my new G’grand-daughter… just born! Her name is Jennavieve Lyn.. lolol Name is longer than the baby girl… Viva would be a good name, I think…lolol
Now don’t be shocked… Kids and baby critters are there to be loved. I don’t see a whole lot of difference when it comes to loving…
I’m ok now with China… I can see her digging in the creek and running and laffing. She will be waiting…
Yup, I think Viva will be a good name for the new critter…
Last nite, I was listening/watching COPS on TRU TV… Saw a couple of Sacramento cops discussing the merits, do’s and don’t’s of rounding up an escaped bovine. I cracked up and fell on the floor giggling… Kids, I’m telling ya there ain’t nothing funnier than watching or listening to a couple of city guys when they are trying to round-up a farm critter…

One unit said sumfin about a cow not being dangerous! Off I went again. Trust me, cows ARE dangerous… and you can be tromped in a heart beat by one of them innocent looking cows!
Christmas season was my favorite time of the year when I worked for the county SO. LOLOL Many of the Churches and Funeral Homes would naturally have live critters in their Nativity scenes… Just as naturally, the critters would escape the pens and be roving the streets of the city… a herd of sheep.. or goats or a donkey or or… The round-up was a thing to hear and behold! I loved it…

I think I am gonna complain… Sheesh! My lips are chapped… the air is dry… and my hair is full of static elec!
Now, static elec may not be a big thing for most of you but for me, waist length hair and static do NOT mix! The more I brush, the worse it gets… And God forbid I should ground myself… I do NOT like to get zapped… lolol Truly, I am not into pain!
Come on! Git in here and have a bite and some hot coffee! The sun is out… the temp is climbing… the sky is clear and I just saw one of my flyguys!
Naturally, I ran outside to wave… no coat, hat, scarf! However, I am dressed and I do have my teeth in… Hair semi-brushed! LOLOL Lordy pete, I am a mess! Lololol Well, I am!
And was it yesterday, that a whole herd of them BBSBs came over? Well, I didn’t bother to get dressed yesterday… Gray robe, flowered nitegown, the usual mare’s nest hair do. Again, no coat or hat or or…lolol Bout froze my buns off… but I waved and hugged like crazy again… I got flashed…a lot… lolol The SSMSS (sunny side of the mountain sex symbol) was a success again! Lolol I finally went in to get my coat… sheesh, it was COLD!
I cracked up at the dogs too! The boys were romping and playing and bouncing and and! The little girls were a different story! I almost fell off the porch watching them.
This may be a little crude but bear with me… Both Lily and the Ophie were looking for a clear place to go potty. Wasn’t to be found out there yesterday cause everything was covered with two to three inches of frozen snow.. They pawed and looked! No dice! The need was greater than the dislike of the wet cold on their bodies. Did you know tiny lil dogs are contortionists? I’ve never seen such postures in my life!
Finished with their outdoor business, they came racing up the ramp… bout ran me down! Good thing I had the door open… would have been an awful collision otherwise. LOLOL

The snow is almost gone in the sunny spots but I am still not too sure about the section between the curves below me.
I also have the fidgets … Waiting for the guy to call me about the pup… Seems like I went thru this one time before down here… Patience is not one of my strong points…

No, I did not just get up… No, I have not been out acting like a party animal! No, I’ve not stayed inside acting like the party animal …. How ever, I have discovered that I can sleep thru almost anything when I am tired enuf! …or sniffed enuf vanilla…Can you say: Viva crying all nite long?
Beck suggested that I mix vanilla with rubbing alcohol. Yup, I can do that, then pour over crushed ice… with hot fudge and a cherry on top! I made up the part about the fudge and cherry… but it is a thot! Truth is, I don’t drink but I sure do smoke… cigars! So there…
Viva! OMG! Viva! What have I done? I now have a huge cage in the kitchen to trip over… a small one (kitty carrier) back here in the apartment…I figure Viva will still fit in the carrier for the next two weeks if, I say IF, I am lucky. Trust me, GP’s grow rapidly and non-stop for two years… GPs also have large teeth and chew on things for at least two years! There go the rest of the kitchen chairs!
This first pic is to give everybody an idea about her size at the moment… The sunlite coming thru the slats on the back porch kind of disrupts the pic but if you look carefully, you can see the size of Newbie’s head. That little white fuzzy thing to his right is the Viva. Can you imagine having to get around two of these critters in a standard size hallway? Broken field running at it’s best! I am lying! Lololol

Ok, there she is… at/about 9 wks old… She is not accustomed to people and is semi-shy with me. I put the battleship gray bathrobe to good use… I put it in the kitty cage dirt and all… but it smells like me. My scent will rub off on her and make her more acceptable to the Spud. (Boy, does he not like her) She will learn I am the ‘goody lady’ and things will settle in a week or so… Tell me this isn’t day one…PLEASE tell me it isn’t! DON’T tell me I have another two years of this… lololol What have I done?

The sun is warm but the wind is not… Well now, I finally came in the house. Got the Spud outside and turned Viva loose. Oh dear… lolol The back door is open and the heat is turned down. Gorgeous out there! Even saw a couple of my flyguys up there playing this morning.
Viva is curled up asleep in a ‘safe’ corner of the bedroom… all zonked out…and soooooo cute!

Mornin’ everybody. Get your buns in here and set a spell… Coffee or tea or whatever your heart desires! Breakfast too… I think I will fix some fried biscuits this morning. Been a while since I have fixed em… Been just a hair busy lately and I ain’t much of one for breakfast anyway. Don’t do cereal either and I almost fainted when I saw the price on a box…was over $5.00! Sheesh!
Well now, to the Viva! OMG! She’s settled in a little better. Right now she is sleeping in the kitty cage… for her safety and my peace of mind… Did you know that the Lord invented puppies to be movable garbage disposal units? Oh yeah! Good grief, she eats a lot… lololol
Yesterday afternoon, I took her outside for a while… The new neighbors dogs were out. The 6 pack headed up road… Viva decided she was going with them. The Spud decided she was to stay home. Anyway, she starts to follow…Spud goes after her and nips her on the buns (you don’t need to go there yet!) … she yips, runs back to the emom and hides under the skirts of my robe … lolol Guess who stays close to home and the emom now?!?!

Just came back in… Out/in/out/in… You’ll be a lot safer if you don’t ask if I am getting any exercise! Trust me! The back door is open and so is the east window…. Beautiful day… 57° already…
The clouds have cleared some and I could see blue up there. I saw contrail patterns and one of my flyguys up there getting in his airtime… “To touch the face of God” Oh, I wish! Maybe next time around I will have wings… lolol

Good grief! Is it too late to run away from home? Change names? Body transplant? Leave no forwarding addy? Face lift? Dye hair? Lie (big one) about my age/charm/pleasing disposition? LOLOL
I’m worn out already and it’s not even noon yet… lolol Trust me, puppies, grocery shopping and getting older is a bad combination at any age.. At my age, it can be a disaster!
I forgot Grasscutter was coming out yesterday to drag my sorry buns to the store! Well, he was here… I went and changed clothes (or should say I got dressed), put on my fancy mocs then off we went to the store… Bot just enuf to keep supplies up and then came home.
I’m tellin’ ya by the time I go home, my feet were about to fall off! Sheesh… Fancy for the feet ain’t the thing for my feet anymore! COMFORT is the magic word! Oh yeah! Feetsies give up, so does the rest of this body…Comfy shoes might not be purty, but they work for me! Lolol
Anyway, by the time all the groceries were put away, I was too tired to get on the puter very much. Can you say: went to bed early? Oh yeah… puppy and groceries too much for one day’s work… lolol
1447est… Just got back in the house… Cloudy and iffy out there today but warm! Played in the dirt for a while and put the bird bath out in the side flower /cherry tree bed. Packed and toted a few heavy rocks. Waved at my flyguys. Tripped over the 6 pack plus. The doors are open and so is the bedroom windows… I can handle this kind of weather with no trouble at all! I can smell the earth and in the air the scent of the change to the coming season.
Keeping this short today.. gots to busy with a whole list of other stuff ‘to do’! lolol Take care all of mine… go in safety always… Remember to buy ears plugs at the same time you get a new puppy! Oh Yeah!

Good grief! Is it too late to run away from home? Change names? Body transplant? Leave no forwarding addy? Face lift? Dye hair? Lie (big one) about my age/charm/pleasing disposition? LOLOL
I’m worn out already and it’s not even noon yet… lolol Trust me, puppies, grocery shopping and getting older is a bad combination at any age.. At my age, it can be a disaster!
I forgot Grasscutter was coming out yesterday to drag my sorry buns to the store! Well, he was here… I went and changed clothes (or should say I got dressed), put on my fancy mocs then off we went to the store… Bot just enuf to keep supplies up and then came home.
I’m tellin’ ya by the time I go home, my feet were about to fall off! Sheesh… Fancy for the feet ain’t the thing for my feet anymore! COMFORT is the magic word! Oh yeah! Feetsies give up, so does the rest of this body…Comfy shoes might not be purty, but they work for me! Lolol
Anyway, by the time all the groceries were put away, I was too tired to get on the puter very much. Can you say: went to bed early? Oh yeah… puppy and groceries too much for one day’s work… lolol
1447est… Just got back in the house… Cloudy and iffy out there today but warm! Played in the dirt for a while and put the bird bath out in the side flower /cherry tree bed. Packed and toted a few heavy rocks. Waved at my flyguys. Tripped over the 6 pack plus. The doors are open and so is the bedroom windows… I can handle this kind of weather with no trouble at all! I can smell the earth and in the air the scent of the change to the coming season.
Keeping this short today.. gots to busy with a whole list of other stuff ‘to do’! lolol Take care all of mine… go in safety always… Remember to buy ears plugs at the same time you get a new puppy! Oh Yeah!

Grumble, mumble, fuss, moan, groan! I woke up before breakfast this morning! Come on in here and set a spell.. I COULD say ‘enter at your own risk today’… LOLOL Just give me another cup of coffee and I will be fine… Or not!
I had forgotten how much work a little critter could be… Sheesh… Can you say: Attention split? I ‘ve not been able to hang on to one coherent thought for the last several days… God knows, my attention span was iffy before … now, it is non-existent! lolol
I finally wrote a note which I was able to decipher about the daily News… I don’t know if it is me or the server or a glitch in the system but it seems like some editions are not showing up/staying in some of the posted groups… I don’t see any consistency at all. If it’s me, I will try to be more careful in the future… as for the other possibilities, I’ll just have to live with it! Ratz! I wish I could be more dependable.
Haven’t had a chance to check in with my friends or talk on the phone…. Trust me, I put on running shoes when I hit the floor. Lolol..
Viva is doing fine… a little bewildered about the house rules and stuff but Spudley is now keeping track of her…
I went out to the mail box yesterday with a parade of critters… Viva was getting too close to the road… I asked Spudley to shoo her back and he did! Grumped at her… she went screaming up the side ramp and waited til I let her in the side door… Way to go Spuds!

Oh, just a minor heads up… Expecting high winds in this area today… High winds equal trees down, possible landslides because of thawing conditions.. This means that my service is again on the iffy side… Love my mountains but it can really be nerve wracking up here.

Oh my gosh! The storm gods came out to play with a vengeance! Lost power over nite… The silence woke me… The wind was still blowing… moaning and screaming around the house. Trust me, the gods were rowdy…Anna spent yesterday in the basement… Mary, the new neighbor, was terrified… I told her to get herself down here when the weather is that bad… She lives in a beautiful double wide trailer and it is tied down but up here that might not be enuf!
Beck called this morning to make sure I was ok…. She, God love her, lives on top of a mountain in a trailer. She was terrified too. Sheesh!
I was walking the walls yesterday, all day… I know when it is tornado weather; I can feel it. Yesterday was the day! Louisville caught it this time and has a lot of wind damage.
I have a shutter blown loose out front… A canvas chair and a 5 gal bucket are in the middle of the back yard. The sun is out; the winds are calm and the 6 pack plus are sleeping! Can you say: peace and quiet for a few? I still haven’t gone outside to check the roof for damage…
‘It’ ain’t never gonna stop! Now, I have company coming Monday noonish… this means cleaning and picking up and doing all those ‘homemaker’ things I hate to do.
The latest on Viva! Oh dear! I was sitting here minding my own business… trying to read some of the news… Viva was under the puter table in/on the doggy bed. Well, she let out a scream; I jumped a foot! She came flying out from under the table… Yipping for all she was worth! Did an immediate Uturn and tried to climb up my leg! Now what?!?
I looked and there was nobody else under the table… just her.. What in the world? Oh oh! Duh Paula! How bout the wires to and from the puter must have bitten back? I never gave them a thought! I don’t think she will chew on them again but I must remember to keep her away from dangerous stuff. This is like having a child going thru the terrible twos… Those lil puppy teeth are like needles and I don’t even want to talk about them lil front feetsy toe nails…
I’ve discovered that Viva likes to chew on fingers (mine) toes (also mine) and the hem of my bath robe…Cute now maybe but down the road, if she grabs my robe, I will be brought to a screeching halt or end up starkers! Lolol
Speaking of, she wants to go outside… back in a few… lolol
Back… lolol I mustn’t forget the Marvin today… He was featured on the home page this last week…

The other day, I tripped over a couple of personality tests in The Jersey Girls group… What Breed Of Dog Am I? And What Kind Of Cat? Lolol Would you believe I am a St Bernard dog and a Snow Shoe cat? Now, a St. Bernard I know about… What the heck is a Snow Shoe Cat? Another sumfin to look up when I can work it into my schedule.
Guess that’s it for a while… gots to go check the house for possible damage… feed the chickyducks.
Almost forgot to tell you about Viva’s first trek down the back steps… Maybe tomorrow! Lolol gotcha!

Good Grief! I am surrounded by the 6 pack plus! Wall to wall critters back here in the apartment… The Viva has decided to live dangerously and has been chewing on Spudley’s ears… Spudley has made it known that she is not to be chewing on his ears with them needle sharp puppy teeth… Does Viva pay attention? I don’t think so. Oh dear, emom to the rescue! I grab rotten pup, (kinda reminds me of the Marv!) and shove her buns in the cage for her own safety… Wonder if they make cages for untamed Marv’s? Oh oh.. The boy’s gonna get me now for sure! Gots the giggles already!

Don’t ask me why I was wandering around re-reading TCornish’s profile, but I was! Spotted the pic of the giant strawberry in his photo-faves… The strawberry immediately took me back to my childhood and the visits to Grampa Stone’s.
Well, he had a strawberry patch out back… While the grown ups were inside drinking beer and gossiping, I would go out to the strawberry patch. Let me tell you, there is nothing like wandering up and down the rows of berries, grabbing a ripe one then popping it into the mouth! Nothing! Hot from the sun and a little dusting of God only knows what on them… Grampa never said a word that I know of about my eating up his luscious and lovely ripe strawberries. TC honey, thanx for sparking the memory. What a time that was!
I guess I need to publish a DISCLAIMER here. Several times in the last month or so, I have been nailed for posting some forewarded info that may or may not have had incorrect data. The ‘nailers’ have suggested strongly that I go to an off Eons fact checking site for corroboration. (wonder who checks on the fact checkers)
Well now, I trust the people from whom I receive this info… I trust them implicitly! They email (notice I said email) the items… I decide whether to post the items in the various groups who might have an interest. Should anyone have a problem with a posted item… Do the research… PM me… and I will take it from there. If the person who nails the error wants the credit, I will gladly give the credit for the correction… IF I feel one is needed! Minor discrepancies or urban legends cannot always be weeded out.
My opinion on the above? It strikes me as strange that a person would sign on with Eons; go direct to VNV or other military/veterans groups.. correct a month old article, then refer me to another site to check the facts… all on the same day! Gives one to ponder.
Well, I guess I have another almost mouth to feed… I saw Mary out yesterday… asked if she was missing a Tickle Me Elmo or a blonde bear. Nope! A white tenny pump? Yup! Really, I should learn not to ask questions… now I feel that I must go out and try to find the lady’s white tenny pump! Lolol Wearing one shoe out here just doesn’t work… I hesitate to mention snake boots to her… Even with all the dogs around, there are good sized rattlers and lots of copperheads running around… People have been bitten during every season of the year up here… It pays to remember that and be cautious…
I watched an episode of Twilight Zone yesterday… Title: Paladin of the Lost Hour. Starred Danny Kaye and John Bryant. Two people who want the world to be a better place… Bryant plays the roll of a Viet Nam Vet… a great story line… I was crying at the end… for all of mine…
Well, I guess that’s it… More cleaning to do… yucky pucks! I HATE HOUSEWORK! Grumble mumble… should have been born rich instead of so good looking and charming! LOLOLOL
