New Here

Hi all, New here but have some in common with you I'm sure. I have one left at home. Some day she will decide to go out on her own. She's graduated but still here. Alot of the time I dont complain. She does have a job but also causes some problems. She has a full time job but with the cost of living shes not able to suport herself fully. She also has some health issues she hasnt learned how to deal with yet so am afraid she'll get herself into big problems. So until she gets herself together She's here for the time being. We've had 3 others leave the nest without any problems. They've gotten their lives together and are doing pretty well. We have one getting married next summer. Not sure what to do with our youngest to help her along. School would be good if she knew what she wanted to do. She tried doing that and quit cuz felt she was wasting money and time not knowing what she was going for. So got this job. And thats where we stand.

Hi Rozbud75, I am new to the group too. I am a true empty nester until May. Both my kids are graduating college this spring. I know that they will come back to live until they are able to to afford living on their own. I love my kids but my husband and I have certainly enjoyed life without kids. Do you have any insights and/or suggestions to make the transition back to a full house a smooth one?

The best advice I can give, depending on how good your kids are towards you and each other, you might set some guide line down but remember they've been out on their own and arent the same as before they left. Most have grown and grown up. Just as long as the line of comunication stays open and they're respecting that you have a life and dont take you for granted. And also let you know somewhat their plans. I know I get worried about people living under our roof. If your not planning to come home at night let us know. Its only common curtiousy. My kids still call when they get home or to where every they're going. And the oldest is 33yrs. We appreciate it greatly. Specially this time of the year.
