Off to Cozumel!

It looks as though Kevin and I will be spending 9 days at an all-inclusive (YUCCH!) on Isla Cozumel in April - May. It's for my work and I will be busy keeping doctors in line and scuba diving. Does anyone have any experience on Coz and can you give me somme ideas of what to expect? We docked there once on a cruise and I don't remember much of it as we headed for the ferry and went straight to Playa del Carmen and Hidden Worlds which chenged our lives forever!

We're staying at the Occidental Grand over by Presidente Beach. I hear that the food isn't so hot but the hotel is nice and the people are nice. Anyone have any experience there?

We plan to have a car for one day maybe but will rent bikes or cab as needs be. I will be busy most days but the nights will be free.

We'd like to know some decent places to eat and some interesting things to see in the evening. We're not the Carlos and Charlies type of people - we like good food, good booze and good people and music.

Kevin will be on his own there while I work and he does not dive. He DOES snorkel and do it well and I think he's going to go over to PdC. We'd also like to take a group over to Coba and would like to have some input on any good tour excursion companies there?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanx!

Wow that sounds fun. I stay at the Scuba Club and its inclusive. I wish it werent so I dont eat in town. But it has great dive masters and great scuba courses and they take you to terrific sites on boats.
The Scuba Club is a few blocks out of town past Chedreaui (the 2nd large walmart type store on the street) When looking at the island from the harbor you would take a right.

My friends dive the Cenotes on the mainland near Tulum.

Love those warm water dives
