There are TONS of playlist sites. It all depends on what you like, how you feel about the interface, & - most important! - whether the site is free or not.
These sites should get you started. They have huge indices & are free; just follow the instructions to set up your playlist & get the embed code for your site:
playlist.com
myflashfetish.com
imeem.com*NOTE: Facebook booted playlist.com today at the request of the "recording industry" - no more music on your facebook page if you were using their player.

I've been using myflashfetish.com for my music groups . . . it has a great database and lots of different skins to choose from. AND you can add or delete WITHOUT having to re-do the embed codes. That is a big plus. ~KK
I've kind of fallen in love with the video playlist feature at myflashfetish:

I made this video playlist at myflashfetish.com
keenkat, I love ABBA and that video feature looks like fun. My granddaughter will love the video feature of myflashfetish, too, but her music choices won't be as great!
Hmmm, so playlist has been removed from some other sites. There is an interesting announcement at the playlist site. Wonder what is really going on?
Thanks to all of you for the information! This should get us easily started.

Very interesting info. I have playlist on my profile. So far it's pretty good although occasionally the songs will flicker and I'll get an error. I may check out myflashfetish. I like the video thing it has.
Playlist.com doesn't really say what is behind the situation with MySpace, Facebook and I guess now Friendster. They do say that they are working really hard to get their widgets back up and running on these sites. They also announced that they have a new agreement with Sony/BMG to use their full catalog.
After reading some of the comments made by users to this announcement, it appears that MySpace is blaming it on copyright issues. Stating that Playlist.com is using illegal practices and they will reinstate the Playlist players once the artists are being paid.
Another MySpace user wasn't buying this and felt that MySpace just wanted their own players to be used on the site.
So who really knows what is going on?
I've been playing around with a couple of other play lists just to see if I liked something better.
These are just my opinions:
I tried MyFlashFetish and did like this site, but some of their players are not intuitive to use. Maybe if you are a 13 year old, it would be plain as day. I do like the one shown above and I think it is the same as the one I settled on if I switched from Playlist.com.
Dizzler.com seems to be okay as well. Seems to have a decent selection to choose from and some really different skins. Also, their players offer more than just music. You can also listen to radio, play videos and games. Again, working with their players can be a challenge, especially after the ease of working with Playlist.com.
Maybe if I worked more with some of these others, I would like them more.
There was a mention above about being able to add and delete without changing your embed codes. If you are referring to just the music, you can do that as well at Playlist.com. The only time you need to change the embed codes is if you change which playlist you want to use, change the skin, or how it is set up.
I have very little experience with Playlist, and will have to defer to those of you who have used it successfully. As I said previously, I like myflashfetish, and I have found it very user friendly. As to my comment regarding embedding, I stand corrected.
Thanks for all the great info in this thread and in this group. Happy New Year to everyone! ~KK
Thank you all for the great information! I'll be checking all of these out. You all are great! Have a wonderful Happy New Year!
