I've been taking tumeric for arthritis. Cool to know there's an extra added bonus!!

Thanks for the information on tumeric,I have been using it for
awhile-I mix it with ginger-allspice-cloves-nutmeg and cinnamon-
and put it on my apples,or in my oatmeal. Now I know I should try
to eat 1/2 teaspoon a day. My blood pressure is fine,a little on
the low side, but my pulse pressure is way to high. Tawny

In researching Turmeric, I found that there are many, many benefits to incorporating it into the diet. Joint health, heart health, detox, and a lot more. See link below:

Turmeric/curry is one of those great spices. It's in mustard (learned this from one of this group ;-)

Use of spices is one of the lost cooking arts. Part of the reason must be cost. Salt and sugar are cheap, while spices are expensive. But if spices can prolong life and improve the quality of our lives while salt has the opposite effect......then why let a few $$ stand in the way?

Agreed, Rad! It's not that hard to add Curry or Turmeric to soup or vegetables. I have found that eating curry at night makes me sleep very soundly, perhaps because it lowers my blood pressure.

I take turmeric capsules ... expensive little suckers. Wonder how effective it would be to just eat more curry.

Try it and see...depends on the dosage you are taking now. I bought some yesterday at 'Freddies' for a very reasonable price, and found some good deals at Puritan's Pride on line. I found that just adding curry to my black eyed peas for New Years worked great. The lady at Freddies got in her herbal computer program and there are so many benefits that it seems silly not to use it either in cooking or in supplement form. I learn something new every day. Now watch, I probably will live to be 100 !

We use curry, tumeric, oregeno & ground cumin.
There is a Whole Foods supermarket not all that far & their own brand is not that costly.
