MAKE "HEALTHY MONDAY" A PART OF YOUR LIFE

What's so healthy about Mondays? A team of experts at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, created the Healthy Monday campaign to remind people that every Monday is a new opportunity to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Most people think of Monday as the fresh start to a new week, and what better time to adopt a new healthy attitude?

Even if you lose your focus, go off track and totally wreck your healthy plans, there's always another Monday, just around the corner, and another chance to be healthy.

Have you embraced the Healthy Monday philosophy yet?
"Healthy Monday" asks that we tackle the "big four" leading causes of preventative diseases in America today:

An unhealthy diet
Sedentary lifestyle
Smoking
Alcohol abuse

Adopt the "Healthy Monday" lifestyle and jumpstart your journey to good health every Monday.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Believe me I sure needed it.
Hugs, Sandy

We ALL need it! I loved this philosophy. Every week is a new chance. Put the failures of yesterday behind us. It's a great approach for changing anything in one's life that needs some tuning up.

I say why not start with Sunday which is the real first day of the week!

Start with whichever day works best for you. I think the suggestion was for Mmonday because for those who work, Monday usually begins a five-day routine. When the weekend arrives, one has momentum to carry you through, although folks tend to enjoy themselves more, and slip off the wagon. But a one or two-day slip should not deter people from getting back on the program.

Itsabeautifulday, thank you for this post and the 4-item list. It's a good idea, at least for me. The area I am going to have to change is the sedentary lifestyle I have been leading. Looking to this new year as a chance to reorder priorities. My brother just passed away, and diabetes was a big factor.
