ssi

Hi everyone. I just joined a few days ago and i need some info about ssi. what is the guidelines for ssi? My wife had a major stroke aalmost 3 years ago and i had to quit working part time to stay at home and take care of her. She has had 2 smaller strokes in the last year.We both draw ss but it is not enough to pay all our bills and live. We are going to lost our home because when i quit work we had to start taking more out of our stock and now that the market has went way south we are almost broke and we can't make the payments on our home. We have a little left and we hope we have enough to build a small place on my grandson's lot. any advise will be a great help. And i hope everyone herer has a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a happy new year.

Social Security (that is, the plan based on your FICA contributions while you worked, pays out retirement and survivor benefits and disability (SSDI) benefits) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) provide for disability benefits for individuals who cannot work because of a disabiity and who are under full retirement age. There are different rules for people who are blind and unable to work.

If you are under full retirement age, I would be happy to answer more specific questions for you. Please email me directly at ppetowusa@yahoo.com. Please visit my website at www.petow.com
