Radar on my car

Here is a question for all to consider and reply on. Being a storm chaser and ham, I am thinking of putting a marine radar unit on my car to be able to 'see' into the dark at night. The units are small enough to fit on top and the display can fit on the dashboard. Comments, suggestions, laughter? I am aware that XM satelite radio can send me current weather to my laptop, but that wouldn't provide a view of objects in the dark. Do these units have to be licensed or registered with "big brother"?

I was thinking of putting a radar on my red ryder wagon, I think it would go well with my portable radio gear. I want to be a firefighter. Does anyone else? I just want to do it so i can put lights on my wagon legally. I am not a amateur radio i just thought i would share that your idea is cool. Anyone have an old radar they will give me for my wagon?

I have a disaster unit/command post/K9 Unit (all in the same unit) that could use one of them. I also have the flashing lites to go with it. I'll have to tell my REACT buddies about this, that R-E-A-C-T Radio Extra ACTION Communication Teams.

We save lives with CB radios. It might be a long long time before I can do my install though, so tell me how it goes.
