I have 2 questions

I have a Dell xp (home version) from hell. My first question is......I have some pictures on a cd from walgreens. My cd drive is working. ( I can play music ) I put the walgreens cd in the drive and downloaded it to my pictures. Since the cd was dated and not named, I couldn't find the pictures. I inserted the walgreens cd again and it would not work. Is there a run command that I can use to start the cd drive, or is there a setting on my computer that I can change? I finally found the pictures but this info would benefit me in the future.
2nd question........
I downloaded Mozilla Firefox. I like it but am still getting used to it. ( I am a creature of habit ). My daughter sent me an e-mail with an attachment of pictures of my grands. Using Firefox, how do I save the pictures to my computer? I could easily save e-mailed pictures with Internet Explorer. I can't figure out how to save e-mailed pictures to my computer using Firefox. I tried help but maybe I didn't word it correctly. I am a novice here, usually learn by trial and error.
Please give me detailed instructions. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

1. Open "My Computer".
Right-click on the CD drive and select "Properties".
Click on the tab marked "Autoplay".
Choose an action or check "Prompt me each time to choose an action".
Click "OK".

See if that works.

2. You don't save email photos using a web browser. Either double-click or right-click on the attachment in your email program and select an action. ("Save", etc.).

Why?

Firefox is faster and much more secure than IE.
