Let's all write in German

For those of us who are trying to improve our German, it would be great to practice by writing. Those who are proficient could help by posting their messages in German, I think.
We learners also should attempt to post in German. If its too difficult English would suffice. Try not to judge us too harshly.
For instance if you are not sure about the translation you could write it like this(it really is a question):

What does everyone think about it. (An was denkt jeden es?)

We could talk about everything from current events to politics to recipes

Maybe those of you who are trying to improve your German could start a group where you speak only German or pratice it. I didn't join to "learn" German I joined to learn more about Germany.

If I was mistaken in joining the wrong group, I guess I can move on to another group. I enjoy reading about your shared experiences on your trips, your photos and plans to visit. It has been a nice experience and I thank you for it.

Sorry, you are right. The group was formed for that purpose but I just thought it might be interesting as nobody seems to want to contribute.

That is on a regular basis.

I suppose I should step in here and give some direction.
Daffodil, I think I agree with Bamagran. Unfortunately, our site suffers already with a low posting rate (other than your German word link post which just went bananas!). I think someone coming into the site and seeing a lot of posting in Deutsch would get the wrong idea.

There are a couple of options for all-German posting. I've seen some in the Alte-Heimat group.
I think another tremendous option is to start a completely new group that promotes only German language posting. Ever since Eons relented on trying to have only American members, native German speakers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland could be included for some expert tutoring. (We have two German members in the group.)

Let me be very clear, here. I'm not suggesting for anyone to jump ship. I feel the group should be as open and inviting as an Oktoberfest beer tent or a cozy November weinstube. Daffodil, you're a group asset. Please don't be discouraged.

I am not. I agreed with Bamagran. It was only a suggestion to get some input.

That's great, Daffodil! Last thing I want to do is start a 'food fight'. :-) Thanks for your posts.

Just wanted to reassure all other members that it is okay to suggest an activity or idea. It does not necessarily mean that it would end up confrontational. It can be discussed as Dick always says.

I guess I am one of the culprits that made the German word practice go bananas.
It was fun - not just for the practice and participation - also for some of the Translations.....LOL
A German language group is not a bad idea - I am game and it never hurts to continue learning.

You're no culprit, Lonnisha, you're a great contributer! That thread will continue as long as people care to add another word to the chain. A great learning tool!

I agree, Daffodil. Suggestions are always welcome.
I may have started the group but I'm just the caretaker here.

As part of that 'caretaking', I added the title "Rothenburg, Bavaria" to the group banner picture so people would know the name of the town in the picture.

Daff- I'm game to try my German in any group you want to start or if we had a special thread for it here with an explanation that members who don't wish to learn German in the group could just skip the thread.
