My first job interview in a long time!

All right lady’s here is my story: my husband and I not be getting along for a while we have been married for 26 years so we have had are bubs along the road. I have been unemployed for about 8 months so being that I might consider divorce if things do not change I need to get my cute butt back to work. I am an accountant so I do have a lot of expertise in this field, the first week I sent out about five resumes to different companies, so yesterday I had my first interview with this large lumber company. Well to my surprise, 90 percent of the workers there are Latinos even the Vice President that interview me for the job is Mexican. I think I did very well for two other staff members all male also interviewed me, and did I mention that 95 percent of the workers there are male. Yes, it is raining men! I was there for over an hour and we all got along very well so I shook hands, and said my good byes and thank you. As I was walking out, I happen to notice that the other lady’s that worked in the office were all under 25 years of age, and with very big breast showing a lot of cleavage I am not over exaggerating there blouses were cut low, and all very attractive Latinas. When I was driving home, I thought to myself they are not going to hire me I am to old! Yes, I am attractive but these men are looking for young women to work for the company, not an old timer like myself I have the credentials but I am not the right age. He said that he would make his decision next week, and that he would call me with an offer, or e-mail me. If he calls me, and offers me the job, I am going to be very shocked, and surprised! However, very happy that they looked at my long experience in this field, and not my age.
Hi Mspollyanna, First of all let me congratulate you for even getting as far as an interview. Good jobs are scarce nowadays. It sounds like you made a good impression. I totally understand your observations re. the pretty young girls in the office. In my head I still feel like the 25 year old I once was (only a lot wiser) but I have the body of a 53 yr old. It has been difficult to reconcile the two. However I have gotten by with class and sass (a lot more sass than class) all my life, with a little bit of warmth thrown in. Men do appreciate beauty buy I think there are just as many men that appreciate an older womans developed character. Good luck with the job search. I send my prayers for you and your husband. I was married for 23 years. I've been divorced 9 and I still miss him. It is hard not to miss someone who has shared so much of your life, good and bad. I not sorry I divorced him but I do miss him.

Hi Miss Polly:
Good for you that you got that interview. Don't even think about age being an issue. One thing that could happen would be that they would hire you and because you are the "older and more experienced one," all the hard stuff would fall to you and the "young pretty things," would get the cream of the jobs. You know, it might just be possible that they would consider you an old work horse that has no life outside of work...you know what I mean?
I hope that is NOT the case...just an observation. If this is the job you want, then I hope you do get it and I would wish you all the best.
Over and above that. I hope you remain married and stay much in love and remember the reasons that first drew you together. Love heals all things, I hope it heals your problems as well.

Thank you ladies for your prayers, and support. As for employment, I know I will find a position where someone will want me for my experience, but for my marriage, we have been distant, because of the big fight, we had, and I have left before. Two years ago, we separate, and I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, but six months later, we reconcile to try to make a go of it. When you have been with someone this long, you take each other for granted, and just try to settle with what you have unfortunately we have grown apart. We both have become the opposite of each other, we do not even like the same, movies, and music anymore, and those are the little things. it would take this hole page to mention everything else, but I am taking day by day, and only time will tell.
