Joe Biden

On Inside Edition tonight, they had a story about the death of Biden's wife and child. The issue that was brought up was whether or not the driver of the truck that hit them was drunk. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE??? Why does the media have to bring up this crap. . . it has nothing to do with what is going on now or the upcoming election.

Labor Day/Mean to you?

Have anything special planned for the Labor Day weekend?

What if anything does Labor Day mean to you?

It means I best get my house cleaned for one thing. I put off doing a bunch of things, and they all caught up with me.

Reducing our taxes

Senator Obama's speech was a real humginger. huh?
In fairness to Senator McCain, we should wait until we hear his plan.
In the coming weeks each candidate will have to address every word from their acceptance speeches to much more specificity of how we will accomplish these goals.

Senator Obama has suggested that 90% of Americans will get tax relief.
I am sure we will hear the "how" part but maybe we might suggest ideas that might make sense as well.
I am sure our collective ideas may be incompatable but ideas of taxation are worth looking at.

As an example, we used to be able to deduct your state sales tax from your Federal Income tax. We have not been able to do that in a long time.
Reinstituting that deduction would certainly put more money in our pockets, encourage sales, bolster the economy, relief for low and middle income folks.

There has been an idea that the IRS give up totally on a Federal Income Tax and revert to a NATIONAL SALES TAX. The thought being that the upper income folks spend more money that it might be a fairer method of taxation.

We will always pay taxes and the US government has the Constitutional right to collect taxes.

Your opinions please??

Best
Ricky

Attitude

What really pissed me off from the get-go, was the attitude of the Obama supporters who tore up Hillary more than the republicans. Now they're singing her praises shaking in their boots because an unknown, Sarah Palin is the republican pic for veep. As a Hillary supporter, I will gladly jump ship and support McCain/Palin. In a blink... in a heartbeat! I am that shallow. On the other hand, she has more experience than Obama, she's prettier than Biden, and she puts her money where her mouth is. She's a tough cookie, a woman I quietly hoped would be McCain's choice, and frankly, right now I'm celebrating.

About Internet Explorer8.....

This, today, from ComputerWorld:

view link

Thanks to OwnedbyJRT for the heads up.

Just a note - this will not impact everyone on the planet, only those who install Internet Explorer8 and have XP service pack 3.

A lot of people won't even go near IE8 or any other number. If you use Firefox, you're fine. If you use Opera, ditto.

Finally, this may be only a scare tctic that will be resolved with yet another patch from Microsoft well before IE8 gets to the average user community.

If you wish to post to this, please see OwnedbyJRT's post below.

Demons And Time Marches On

I may smoke my herb and I may have a thought
And I may think of the all battles that I have fought
I have fought some with vigor and some total disarray
But I have never fought a battle like I am fighting today
