Life!!!!!

I haven't posted much since I joined this group a couple of weeks ago. I've been dealing with a personal situation that has consumed my life. I had three cancerous lesions removed yesterday and today is the first day of the rest of my life. I thought who better to help me celebrate than the people who embraced the hippy lifestyle years ago and realize that it is just as important today. Life is so precious. I sat on my porch this afternoon and noticed that the grass is a little greener today.....the sky a little more beautiful. I played my music until the walls vibrated and I told all the people that are special to me that I loved them. Isn't this why we chose the hippy life so many years ago? Peace, love and a whole lot of music. I've been reborn and will never take another minute of my life for granted. "Come on, people, now.....smile on your brother. Everybody get together and love one another, right now" Just thought I would share. Have a wonderful day.

Hello peace! Congratulations on the first day of the rest of your life. Last year a relative of mine fell and broke her neck in two places and for a while it was doubtful whether she'd walk again. For months after this happened, I'd embrace all my little aches and pains. I was even grateful for a root canal! I was just so happy to be here to feel all these aches which were tiny by comparison to hers. She recovered nicely btw. You have a wonderful day too!!

First off let me say that I am so happy that you are well and the future looks bright.
I lost my oldest child very suddenly in 1996 and I made a great big turn around in my life. The life I had been living was not satisfying because I was trying way too hard to please everyone but me.
Bit by bit I got back to the garden and don't plan on leaving any time soon. My daughter laughs at me for being "stuck in the 60's" but I gently remind her that I am happy and rarely get bouts of the means, or the blues, or the angrys. I dance when I want to and I laugh out loud when I feel the need.
Remember to always dance like nobody is looking and to love like you've never been hurt.

Peace and Light

Peace
Your still around for a future reason, and still have another song to sing or write. It takes courage to look at the world through new glasses.
Peace in your mind, love in your heart, and health for your body.
finest regards

I'm glad you had such a succeesful day. As you know, I know how good it can feel after being so worried. I was suprised to hear about it on Hippies (like me) you ought to copy and place this wonderful message on the cancer page. I know I'm not alone in being happy for you

Your post reminds me of how thankful I should be for my own health, my husband of 30 years, and we still LIKE each other, our small home, our whiney dog. 2 great kids and even 2 greater grandkids etc. I tend to find so much I can whine about. Your post set me straight. Thanks
