It's really getting excited about something. Enjoying it, talking about it...It's reading up on a subject to get more out of it whether it's gardening, sex, traveling or cooking; and not necessarily in that order. LOL
Yes, I have it. Most definitely. opk

I'm a pretty passionate human being. And that means I can feel emotional about things.
I like that about me....I express it through touch, talking/sharing, and through my art.
I also express it through responding to others.

While I'm waiting for my SO to call from Houston, I thought I'd google "passion" to see what it has to say. Wikipedia says...
Passion (from the Latin patior, meaning to suffer or to endure).
Right underneath that, there's an ad that says "Welcome to Passion.com, the leading singles network for dating. Passion.com is a registered service mark of Various, Inc." I think both things are a giggle, but then I'm having a very slow day.
Personally, I've been told that I am a passionate person. When I care about something, I learn as much as possible about it, involve myself in it, and take enormous pleasure in that involvement. When it's a someone, passion is more intimate - touching, caring, sharing, learning about that person, and those other things that happen in an intimate relationship.
It's trickier when it's a human we're talking about -- passion can envelope someone else to the point of smothering them. One of my best friends in HS, many years ago, fell desperately in love with a guy. That summer before college, he was her whole life. By the end of the summer, he had told her that he felt as if he couldn't breathe and that what had been an attraction had really turned cold, because nobody can be 100% of anyone else's life. So passion has another side, as well. That was 45 years ago and I still remember her and that break-up. She was inconsolable, and totally confused.

I'm very passionate about things I believe in but usually reserved about it. Lately I've noticed myself allowing silly stuff to get me angry. Something I need to back away from. But at least when you know whats bugging ya, you can fix it. Stuck in this house convalescing doesn't help much either. I'm a worker bee so inactivity sucks for me. I've fixed a few things around the house so that helps.
What is passion? A strong commitment to whats most important to you at the moment.

In many places wouldn't know it if i fell over it. I believe it is a cause of much of the 'crazy " behavior sane people do. think politics, jealousy, Although the arts tend to be driven by passion.

Let me just say I think there's a difference between passion an obsession. Passion doesn't necessarily involve another PERSON. I'm passionate about writing. But I'm not obsessive about it. I don't do it every day. I've seen many movies and heard many stories about one person being obsessed with another. Is obsession an "enth degree" of passion. Hmmmmm......
I'm clearly a passionate mother trying very hard to lift my son up to the best of his abilities. It's a small thing, confined to just one person, but I have the wherewithall to take the powers that be to task, and will continue to do so. I've been doing it for so long that I can't remember what it's like to be passionate about anything else.
I love to cook. Does that count?

Hon, if you're passionate about, heck yeah! That counts!

Cooking counts, and for me? It's in the eating. I go to the gym every week day and walk or ride my bike on the weekend. I am not passionate about that. I do that so that I can eat what I want... I am passionate about FOOD! My partner laughs at me when I describe something I've eaten that I loved... there must be some Italian in me somewhere since the hands come forth and help me describe it. I cook some, just learning late in life... tonight? Another pizza on the grill. We're doing a ceasar type sauce with chicken, bacon bits and olives! Lots of cheese. How's that sound?
For you folks in Houston -- one of my favorite things EVER and STILL are the chocolate eclairs from the French Gourmet Bakery. There is something about the chocolate they put on top of those eclairs... and they use the same stuff in their thumbprint cookies and atop their brownies. YUM. The eclairs were always fresh and the custard is to die for. I have been in L.A. and San Francisco where you think you could find a good eclair, but I have not found one better.

Where is this place with the eclairs?
And re: the pizza: Have you tried prosciutto on your pizza?
