I did. most of my toy were home made by us or by my mom, she made my doll out of cloth, she embroided the face and she also made her dress. I made table and chairs with paper(origami) and with bottle caps and shoe boxes, my cousins and I made cars and train, we play the store with litle things we found in the house. We play for hours and end, it was a great time for us kids. But my favour game was playing jass
with my mother and my cousins, I still remember when one day we play like for three consecutives hours.
I guess we put our imagination to work, we never got bored because play time was equal time our chores.

You mean there were real toys? Shoot we had stilts, rubberband guns, homemade darts, rope swing, tree house, sand pile, and I had 4 older brother and 1 younger, they came up with some weird ideas. I used to take locust shells and build a corral out of sticks, and the were my buffalo, and I played cowboy & indians...those were the days.

It amazes me that we could play out side and around the neighborhood safely.
Did you ever save empty food cans and boxes to play grocery store.

Hop Scotch, jump roap and marble games in the street. Those were my favorite. An old cardboard box to roll down a hill with. We would build forts with old wood and boxes and tree climbing was always fun. Today's kids don't have any imagination!
We played with those exact same toys. I have a brother who was a master at building "soap box racers." We had a ball using our brains and what was available instead of our parents credit cards.
Alotta times we played games with no toys at all, like hide-n-seek all over the whole neiborhood! and war (being a boy after the war)

Yes yes, hiding go seek, oh what fun and do you remember red light green light. How about those ball games the girls played. A my name is Alice...anyone remember them?
I remember red light green light and Annie Over
wait a second-I'm jumping in 'cause A my name IS Alice!
Of course, we can't forget the roller skates with the key. How many of us got whipped with a skate that fell off our shoe.
