LOVE THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY

One who attempts something and fails is much better off than the one who attempts to do nothing and succeeds. That is true in the area of love too. Unless you are currently with your first lover, you have experienced some hurt in your attempt to find true love.

If we protect ourselves against hurt, disappointment and heartache by never allowing ourselves to sample love, we may not experience heartbreak, but understand this, we will never experience the rapture of love either. It is worth the risk.

For me, Bluesman , love is always worth the risks. To love another is the real depth of living.

We all have been hurt or have been the one that has caused another pain. Its part of the love experience. It can be painfully beautiful.

There is no doubt that giving love can sometimes result in a painful situation. To me the pain resulting from the loss of that love in whatever fashion it might have been is far outweighed by the benefits of giving love. Without the attempt and the risk one can never truly find a love that is reciprocal.

"To give and not to count the cost" and "it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" are quotations that come to mind. I'm still rather unsure of how I feel about it as I tend to give love easily and get hurt very easily. But I guess I'll just have to make better choices in future!

It is worth the risk. I can say even with my ex there were some great memories. It may not have gone the way I would have liked it but there were a few things that I wouldn't have traded for the world.
