I want to know why Tito did not put Byrd in. He had him warming up and went to Timlin! Also, during the regular season when the game was close he'd bring in Cora, move Lowrie to 3rd and Youk back to 1st. He hasn't done it once during the playoffs. Kotsay wasn't hitting so why keep him in. Also, why hasn't he used Casey? He has a career BA of 302 and 447 slg %. I know he doesn't move as fast as Kotsay, but we need hits! He can run faster than Papi on the bases and at least he gets on base!

I agree completely, and have felt that way for quite sometime. It is like the " kiss of death " when he enters a ballgame....bases on balls, come on, you just DON'T DO THAT. That would of been such a big win.......I would of pitched Lester too....Beckett is not himself. Now what about Wakefield, another disaster waiting to happen....keep our fingers crossed.
I didn't see all of the game, but when I saw the highlight reel this morning, and Timlin was standing on the mound, I knew it was over. I agree with people who ask why Francona didn't use Byrd. I'm looking forward to seeing what Byrd can do and think he should start instead of Beckett for Game 6.
I don't know your players as well as y'all do, but when I saw that Timlin was sent in, I just knew it spelled disaster.
One reporter hinted today that perhaps they did not use Byrd because they do intend to use him to start. Maybe there's more going on with Beckett than they are releasing to the press. Could be they're trying to keep it quiet so the opposing team can't put it to their advantage. There is definitely something going on with Beckett.
We kept thinking he was going to turn it around. Get better as the game progressed. It's very worrisome that he is piching so poorly. At this point I think we all would welcome Byrd.
I tried so hard to stay to the end last night but now I'm glad I didn't have to witness the horror ! Someone on another site dubbed Timlin "The Human White Flag". What cryin' shame.
The Rays are one tough customer. They most definitely lost the deer in headlight look last night. We have to smack them right back down at Fenway tomorrow evening. A 4:30 game ? Yay ! I just might make it through this one !

We left too many players on base. Whats wrong with Big Papi? I don't think his wrist is healed myself. Kotsay and Ellsbury was 0-12...can't win games if your not hitting....we left what 13 or 14 men on base???? We should have been two games up. Why didn't Tito take Beckett out sooner? Too many questions not enough answers...we will win the next three...:) Home Sweet Home...Go Red Sox!!!!
