Remember When by Skip Crayton

“You don’t have to have grown up along the river in historic New Bern for Skip Crayton’s musings to take you back to your own hometown. The places may have different names, but the characters are universal.
Riding bikes, boating, dating, going to football games and getting into neighborhood mischief – you will be transported back to a simpler time…a happy time…a time almost forgotten.
Thanks for dusting off those memories, Skip.”

— Jonathan Segal
. Former New Bern resident who now lives in California where he is president of Freedom Community Newspapers, Inc.

Hey, guys! I did grow up in New Bern and have read this book. Skip's a regular columnist for the local newspaper and this book is a collection of about 60 of these articles. They are funny memoirs of his growing up in the '50s and '60s and are sure to remind every one of you that came along back then of your own hometowns.

A great read.

I have never lived in New Bern but that is the town my husband and I had chosen to move to a couple of years ago. But, we moved to Texas to be closer to family. We haven't ruled out New Bern for a future hometown.
