What's with the badges?

Has anyone else received e-mails, and I emphasize e-mailssssssss, about winning an eons badge? Did I miss a memo? The first thought that popped into my head was that it reminded me of the Jennifer Aniston character in the move "Officespace", with her "flair".

Yeah, I got two emails that said I'd won a badge. When I went to them, I hadn't won a badge. Guess they were just advertisements for badges... hmmmm.

yes, I had an e-mail in my box this morning. When EONS decides to do something like this, they should let the members know. Don't know what the purpose is for--I don't need a gold star for being a great person.
