My profile on EONS is an accurate account of information about me. I have blogs in my profile that give excerpts from both my books. You may also find any information about my publisher and excerpts at my website: GentleSpiritsProductions.com where there are also examples of my other works, as yet unpublished, that include children's books, songs/lyrics, and poetry/photoetry and descriptions of my upcoming publications. I appreciate your time and interest. My wish is for your enjoyment of my work.
For you, what is the hardest part of writing? The easiest part of writing?
The hardest part of writing for me is the editing and rewrites. It is tedious and time-consuming even though it is much easier now with spell-check and formatting done by the PC instead of the old do-it-yourself typewriter method. Reading the book over and over and over can be a tad stressful.
The easiest part of writing is when the book has formed in my head and I sit down to put it to paper and the ideas and story flows from my head, through my fingers, onto the screen of my PC. I love it!
Little glitch delayed my chat time, I'm here now!
How did you go about getting published, and would you go that route again?
I self published through a publisher I found online. A friend of mine had tried it and recommended it. Yes, I used the same publisher for my second book and am pleased with the results. I've had to do everything myself, promotion, etc., but without connections or cash to pay someone to do it for me, it has been a great experience and I plan to continue this way until the publishers are knocking on my door! LOL
How sucessful were you doing it all yourself?
My first book, Nothing Short of a Miracle, a medical autobiography and written for a limited audience, although not a runaway bestseller, has sold copies every month of those three years and continues to provide a steady royalty check. My novel, Mama Dal, is just now gaining recognition and as I do book signings, its popularity grows.
Thank you datsunlvr for your interest!!!
