401k

I have always had a pretty healthy 401k. It has always grown pretty steadily. I n the course of one week I saw it drop $5,000 dollars and after "the loan" it went back up to what it was. Does this seem kind of false to you? I mean, sometimes I wonder just how fragile everything is. One thing seems to be connected to another now and now more than ever I could have something and the next week I could have nothing. I remember the money that everyone got, the money that was suppose to be an "economic stimulus" and it doesn't seem to have worked. Have we become a ship of fools? I know that some people can be devastated by what happens. I don't seem to worry like other people. Maybe it is because I don't have a lot to lose, to me, I will always find a way to be happy but some people don't if things fall apart. I am not saying that things are falling apart but I have never seen everything so connected to how the economy flows.

Good to hear you had a good and safe vacation. It's all about confidence. We, and our holdings are what backs our money and system. When the people loose confidence is when it all falls apart. In todays economy it's best to keep your chin up and your head down and avoid the crossfire.

...Interesting that ya'll talkin about the prospects of our Golden Years....Happen to bee on Wall S.t today, and got a peep at the tourists clustering around the Wall St Bull...seems that no one was standing beehind it's huge butt parodying the ensuing Bull#*#t that goes along with the "connectedness'.....Was there to tour a Cruise ship, butt our group got 'bumped' in lieu of some government party....and all that security that goes with it..why are we protecting these Proletarian Puppets?

...Drivers said a mouth full with his "ship of fools" comment...and Motor is the usual succinct observer...yes, it is about confidence...and CG is right....we may have to go back to the "Old Ways', and marry for money....Ju$t $aying.....LOL

And just where the hell do you think this "bail out" money is coming from? Ship of Fools, yeah, and most of them are wearing blindfolds.
If you guys think we can just go along "blindly" while those in power tell us they are taking 'action' and all will be well, I hope you have a mattress full of gold to back up your optimism.
If you've seen the Wizard of Oz, then you know the 'all powerful Wizard" was a bumbling fool with a curtain to hide behind. Remind you of anyone you know??
I'm glad I divested myself of my 401K and used it to pay down the credit debt I incurred before my disability. I'm not tied to this corrupt system in that respect anyway.
I'm with Scarlett O'Hara, hold onto the land, it's tangible, can provide shelter and even grow food if necessary.
Money, stocks, just paper that quickly devalues and is a tool to be manipulated by this government and world banks. Face it folks, this country is in hock up to its' ears and the dollar is no longer a desirable currency.
Hold on folks, we're in for a "bumpy ride" (Bette Davis).
Gosh, I sure got a lot of Hollywood references in this diatribe. Guess I really am a California Girl (Beach Boys)...lol

I'm taking applications...

any rich, unmarried men out there?Photobucket
(preferably someone who doesn't mind translating all this political mumble jumble...but then again, if I had DIRT to dig my fingers in, i'd be outside planting and playing in the garden...and wouldn't be worrying about anything but the weeds in my own back yard)

Short, light, ugly male with more bills than money I could possibly earn in a lifetime looking for the right woman. Please call (collect) 1-800-4ever-hopeful.

PD-stop paying for the 800 service and you won't have as many bills ;-).

I like that you mention short and light and are not threatening to slap anyone around. That should help your case.

I'm thinking of subscribing to a list of lottery winners.

CG exactly how do you appreciate the bail outs? Dell is still waiting...
