I have been offline for two weeks due to a computer malfunction. What a great welcome back, to find an invitation to a new group.
I listened to much of the Republican convention and have a very sour taste left from the manipulative speeches where they exploited the families of dead veterans by playing dramatic music while detailing their lives. Then all this week I have been treated to 30 second adds claiming that Barack Obama will raise taxes (no mention that this is only on the well to do who have benifited from tax cuts during the last 8 years while the rest of us struggle) approved by John McCain.
Change!! I remember those same adds when Reagon was pushing trickle down theory. Thats where we cut taxes on the rich and watched the money trickle out of the US.
As for Sarah Palin, I believe she is just a figure head. I am offended that the Republican Party thinks women are so stupid they will fall for this . but I am also afraid some women are.
I listened closely to the main speeches and did not hear anything but unsupported rhetoric.
