wisdom

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:5,6

Isnt that an interesting concept? Wisdom shall be granted if you ask for it. But you must believe and not doubt!
How easy is it really for us to not doubt? Its putting faith in God and truly believing that he will hear your request and grant it! Do we always do that? Or does that niggling doubt somehow creep in?

"Have faith in God" Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain,'go throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes in his heart that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Mark 11:22,23

Again doubt...isnt it amazing to think that we could actually convince a mountain to jump into the sea if only we believed with all our hearts and held NO doubt? Is it possible? Or is it so ingrained in us that its not possible for a mountain to jump into the sea that we cannot help in our human weakness to doubt it somewhere in our subconscious?

I dont really believe that humans have that kind of faith. Faith is in things not seen......well I have never seen a mountain moved and neither do I want to haha. WOuld mean lots of trouble.
However.......the faith we do have is given by God. Maybe we get as much as we can handle? I mean, what if we ask for the wrong things if we had that much faith would God be obliged to respond? I think maybe we could not handle so much faith that we could do almost anything we wanted. Look how Lucifer handled things.......Pride......I dont think we are worthy of being entrusted with such power?
I mean, the disciples even being with Jesus and having seen miricles beyond imagining did not have that much faith at that time. I mean, as soon as there was trouble they ran.....if they had Faith in Christ ability to protect them then they would have stayed and protected Him. Then again........things came out the way they were intended so....its a good question. What do others think?

God told young King Soloman that he would grant him wjhatever he asked. Soloman didnt ask for wealth,or power, but rather for wisdom to rule wisely. This so pleased the Lord that he not only granted him great wisdom, but great wealth and power too.

I think a lot of the wisdom we get from God is given us through times of trials. I know because of my unbringing, which was not ideal, God blessed me with wisdom to make things better for my daughters.

sometimes we wonder why we go through certain things in our lives, but it seems to me that God sends as much as we can take and no more. Then later in life we can see why, and just maybe our experience helps someone else. So we are in a way linked by experiences that we would not have wished for, but have been a blessing in some other way.

Since I was diagonised with b-polar about 27 years ago, I have said that was one of the best things that happened to me and I consider it to have been a blessing.
