They come from your belly-button lint of course.
Dust bunnies grow under my bed and I swear they reproduce just the way regular bunnies do. Every time I look there's a whole new flock of them!
I think they appreciate both carpet and hardwood floors, both new and old houses. I've lived in both and they proliferate quite well in both environments. The only difference that I've seen is that they are much more noticeable on hardwood floors where the carpet allows them the opportunity to blend in a little better.
You can't kill the little beasts. The most you can hope for is to hold them at bay.
Missing the belly button lint, are you, Cat?
When we moved from our condo of 7 years into our current house, over 15 years ago, my husband and I were astounded at the giant dust bunnies behind some pieces of furniture that never got moved (e.g., china cabinets). We vowed that, once a year, we would move all of the furniture in our house out from the walls and vacuum behind it.
Would anyone care to venture a guess on how many times we've done that in 15 years?
Probably the same number of times I have - which is once.
Dust bunnies are difficult to conquer but I have reached the conclusion that I had to hire an exterminator to come in every two weeks to keep them at bay...
Scientifically speaking the composition of dust (as I recall) is mostly human cells and star dust (meteors coming into our atmosphere)- it’s you and the stars.
Not to change the subject, but have you noticed that as you go through life your socks disappear and you have more hangers in the closet. This is because socks is the larvae for hangers.
Love and gratitude, Benny
MB: I think my socks must be sterile, b/c I always need more hangers! (That could be because I keep buying new clothes, of course.)
Beth vacuums, my job is to move the furniture and "wash" the secret places with hot water and disinfectant (OK, Pinesoll). Since most dust bunnies are whitish, Beth isn’t wrong when she tells her girlfriends that I am a great white hunter. They are very impressed lol...
... socks is the larvae for hangers. lol
Good one Benny, can I use it?
They do not breed so well on carpet as they do on wooden floors........
