New here and ready to ride

I just read a rather disturbing article about the guy who got dumped on with the ever popular "get a real bike" comment. I'm a Harley owner but also own a Yamaha and a Honda and sometimes I believe the comment is meant in jest, however, there are some hard cases that believe that Harley Davidson and only Harley Davidson, is the only bike that should be on the road. Screw Em! And this comes from the mouth of a former out law biker. It's the person that makes a biker, not what you sit your ass on. Riding is a way of life for me and every available chance I have I ride including winter. I enjoy my Yamaha and Honda every bit as much as riding the Harley, so don't take comments such as this to heart, if it has two or three wheels and a motor, enjoy it and ride as much as you can.
That's so true! I rode a 750 Honda Ace for about 10,000 miles before I bought a 08 FLHRC. I always heard remarks about my Jap bike. I say if you like to ride it, go for it and ignore smartasses.

You hit it right on the head. I have owned multiple bikes and I agree with what you say whole-heartly.

It's all about the wind in your hair, all around you! It's all about the beauty of the ride I say.

23 years ago I swapped my ’66 XLCH Ironhead for something the new bride would be more comfortable on -- a FSLTC , and softened it up even more for her with a real ‘poser’ in ’99 with a FLHR. Now unfortunately she can’t ride at all, I’m solo again, and I went back to a XLH Evo(tricked out to the max of course). Finally I can ride again, not just cruise; I’m in love again. I’ll keep the Hog, for posin’ with the posers on rainy days.

My last ride was a Honda Valkyrie Tourer just prior to Honda's decision to make all Valkyries Californa-ed. So I got the 100+HP and 100+torque that almost seemed mythical. 'twasn't. It was ALL there.
I never heard an argument of any kind from a Harley rider. Nothing derisive at all. A cautious admiration was evident.
Best ride I will ever have been on.
I plan to get two-wheeled again in the foreseeable future. hmmm - I don't have a foreseeable future. Better act quicker than I thought!
