My heritage is Jewish; and I agree with Susan Isaacs when she writes, “Jews and blacks together always seemed as natural to me as peanut butter and jelly.”
Isaacs goes on to say, “Too many Jews are buying into the same sort of blood libel and belligerent ignorance that has tormented our people throughout our history.” She cites the example of “Henry Ford's accusation in The International Jew of a secret conspiracy among Jews to achieve world dominance.”
[How soon we forget that our predecessors were maliciously slandered and libeled . . . and worse. To do the same to another is no Mitzvah (a good deed, resulting in a blessing for one’s self).]
Isaacs finishes with, “November fourth is an important test for us. We will get to see if we are mensches or if have turned into the people we most despise.”
