We buy the fun pass to Sea World and go many times through the year and stay at the Hilton on the bay for 2 or 3 nights to make sure we get to relax.
We also spend alot of time at my grandkids other grandparents house because they have a beautiful pool/jacuzzi back yard witth nice BBQ and a beautiful view of the area which we do every Sunday in Thousand Oaks. Not to mention the beaches Mts. deserts, etc.
I love San Diego, and Sea World and the zoo are great fun!
Fly, fly, fly! ooops except for PismoBeach/Avila Beach area where I go every September; usually drive and meet my sis and her hubby but this time I'm taking the train. This is one of my favorite places to visit in September. Others are Puerta Vallarta, Cabo, Portland, Seattle, Palm Springs, and San Diego....just returned from SD a week ago.

If I could vacation anywhere (we're talking dreams that might never come true), I would go to a Kauai for at least a week, maybe two weeks. Would bring my camera, beach towel, flipflops, sunscreen. Would NOT bring my cellphone or laptop. Ah, bliss!
In California, would head to the Marble Mountain Wilderness in the North part of the state and hike into the Cudahy Lakes area. Stay 1 week and fish, swim, read, hike. I did this years ago with a friend and it was great.

I know this has been out here for a while but it's cooling down in Oklahoma as I write. That causes me to think and perhaps act on going someplace warm with a beach. Beach vacations are mostly what we do. As far as favorite destinations it's kind of a toss up between Costa Rica and Roatan Honduras. We just returned from the Yucatan on the 14th of Oct which was also nice. We have been there numerous times and always seem to end up around Playa Del Carmen or further south. The wife prefers the Caribbean as she is a native Oklahoman and used to calm lakes. The Pacific side surf makes her a little squeamish.
