Iola Car Show, July 10th-13th...
Who has been there? My boys go every year. A couple of years ago my som brought home a Pontiac GTO "The Judge" ....remember that car? Every car buff I know goes to this event. Biggest and best in Wisconsin!!
A Former Badger
I just learned about this group from Improvable based on a reply in another group. I guess I meet all the criteria for membership, except one: I no longer live in Wisconsin. I am stuck in Vikingland. I was born, went to school and enlisted in the Air Force in Wisconsin, though, many "EONS" ago. I went to UWM, graduated and then departed, never again to be a full time resident of the State. But most of my close relatives are still living there, so I get many chances to run down I 94 to visit them. I also meet two old friends from the Chicago area in Wisconsin Dells a couple times a year to drink beer and hash over old times. Maybe membership in this group will help me feel closer to "home" when I am unable to drive down to visit.
Summer's Shorter
Every summer seems so much shorter to me than the last one...a sure sign of growing old. When I was a kid, summer was endless, sometimes I even grew bored enough to want to go back to school. At our store, Barnes & Noble, we're already getting back-to-school display instructions and Halloween books which we store for another few months or maybe it's weeks now. A co-worker is throwing a Christmas- in -July party which is amusing but also sinks my spirits because in retail-hell, Christmas is here in September at the latest.
Hey! Guess what?
Looks like another holiday grandbaby for me!!! Yes, my daughter called me this morning about 6:00 A.M. So right now (7:15 A.M.) I am in GreenBay. She just left for the hospital and I am betting it will be born before noon! I have 3 grandbabies....one was born on Memorial Day 2 years ago, another was born on Christmas Day and now....July 4th. Ahhhh....life is GRAND!
