Zucchini Sticks
One of the things I've learned to love since I moved back to PA is fried zucchini. Think onion rings only zucchini slices or sticks. You can imagine the calories and points in something like this. I found a delicious 1 point substitute - Oven-Fried Zucchini Sticks - that was featured in the August/September 2005 issue of "Eating Well" magazine. I'd saved the recipe but never tried it till today. It was worth the wait. I made a half recipe and ate it all for 2 points! Paired it with a Boca burger and a small ear of corn and some dill pickles on the side. I used some low-fat ranch dressing I had in the fridge as a dip for it. Not a bad little meal.

OK, this week was BETTER ...
... I posted a 1.2 lb LOSS this week. Finally! :-)
I've been REALLY careful to eat ALL my daily points PLUS half my activity points each day, and I've been super careful about water, veggies, etc. I'm hoping that the past couple of weeks were just a "blip," and that my body has decided that cooperation is a better approach.
I'm in the middle of heavy planning for my move: I bought a condo (actually it's a house - no shared walls - but part of a condo association so all exterior maintenance is covered by the association, including yardwork!), and I'm lining up folks to do the painting, carpeting, shelving (pantry), and new fireplace surround. The new gas range and chest freezer were delivered this morning. Whew! I'll be moving around the end of the month, or first week in August. I can't wait! :-)
(now back to shopping for new cabinet door knobs and drawer pulls ... )

I am trying very hard this weekend.
I REALLY NEED HELP!!!!
I got of my plan and can't seem to get back on. I lost 28 pounds but I have put back on 8 pounds and for some reason I can't seem to stop eating. I need some type of advice to HELP me get back on track.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm in heaven!!!
If you don't know about the Litehouse brand of salad dressings, check 'em out in your grocer's refrigerated salads section.
Many of them are "light" -- no fat, low calories, 1-2 pts per 2 Tbsp serving. One of my favorites, Zesty Citrus Ginger, was discontinued last fall. This stuff was like sunshine in a bottle: not too spicy, nice orange "kick," perfect on salads AND as a dipping sauce for the WW Coconut Shrimp recipe.
I was devastated. I sent an email to the company asking about it, and they said production costs/etc. forced them to remove it from their product line. However, their R&D department was working on a new formula/recipe for it, and watch for it "later in 2008."
Was at the supermarket to day and lo and behold, there it was:
TANGY ORANGE CITRUS
Oh my oh my oh my! Bought two bottles of it, got some shrimp, got some salad fixin's -- I'm set! It's 1 pt per serving, by the way. Made me very very happy.
Which is a good thing -- I had a 2 lb gain this week, and the ONLY thing I can figure is I ended the week with 30 activity points that were unused -- walked 3 miles a day 5 days, and spent about 3 hrs each day doing heavy house cleaning -- and I had 2 days where I didn't even eat 2/3 of my points allocation for the day. So not only did I not eat all my points, I accumulated a ton of extra points that I also didn't touch.
I'm putting it behind me, and will simply get back on track and make sure I eat ALL the points each day. But I gotta tell ya -- it's pretty discouraging.

Avoid the 100 Calorie Trap
Everyone these days is repacking their items to be in individual 100 calorie packs. Just because its 100 cals doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. Be sure and consider how satisfying it will be. A large apple vs. a couple of credit card thin "cookies" .. guess which will leave you hungry sooner.
At one time in my WW journey I noticed I had developed a "two point" mentality. Most of my meals were quick two point snacks. Needless to say I wasn't going anywhere with that.
Have at least one regular meal a day and make sure that meal includes at least one non-potato veggie.
Good luck and keep fighting

Citrus-Beef Stir-Fry
I just tried the Citrus-Beef Stir-Fry with Carrots from the WW website. It was fabulous! I added some vegetables to it to make it more filling - celery and some mushrooms, both of which were starting to get a little too old. I will definitely make it again.
