Three Amazing Pieces

In the past two weeks I found a large phoenix (out of the ashes) brooch, a crown and shield brooch and a knight in armor brooch with sword! I'll photograph them soon and put them up for you to see. - M

no computer

Spilled mocha coffee on my laptop so I'm without computer for a couple weeks. I was in the middle of photographing and uploading jewelry project. Guess I'll be starting all over when I get the new laptop, once it's set up.

Thanks

Thanks M for the comments. I have more photos, just takes time to get them right and processed and uploaded, will do so little by little.

I'm back

I found the lunch box with the Weiss pieces along with other 'stuff.' It was down there with me all the time, right in plain sight, I just couldn't see it until I started packing. I always take it with me, so as soon as I get some things tended to here, I'll photo the pieces and post. I'm so glad I found it - I was worried.

Glad you're still here!

All Costume Jewelry Sale!!

Tomorrow I'm going to an all costume jewelry sale, supposedly high end. It starts at 10am but I'll need to be in line at 7am to be first in line! If I find some treasures I will photograph them and put them up. Wish me luck! - M

Arizona Here I Come

Driving from Albuquerque to Phoenix the first weekend of May. Hope to make some stops at flea markets and antique shops. Let's see if this business trip can turn itself into a treasure hunt.

Anyone know any places I should stop by? - M

now where did I put them?

I love my lifestyle of migrating with the seasons, but sometimes it has it's glitches. Can't find the Whiting evening bag with the Weiss. Durn. Possible it's buried in a recessed cranny of my RV, more probable is it's at my place in Nor NV. In any event, can't photo those now, sorry- I was excited about sharing the wealth of vision of all that sparkle.

There is a small shoebox-sized wooden box with 'junk' which I will rummage through and see if there's anything of charm or interest to photo there.

As soon as taxes are done, RV is readied and put in storage (for how long- two weeks? two months?), and various and sundry other nagging chores are done. Spring- bah! Humbug!

Be back soon I hope to Costelry.

Greetings Fellow Admirers of Costume Jewelry

Hi all. Just discovered this group, thanks to seeing it on vettech52's profile when I went to PM her.

I love costume jewelry. When I retired and went gypsy, I went through some *years* of Lightening the Load, getting Rid Of so much stuff, and of course now have some regrets, but hey, you have to do what you have to do.

Thankfully I kept some of my most treasured items, among them a small Whiting evening bag (the silver mesh type) with a collection of Weiss rhinestone jewelry. Mani- you would love.

When I got into Costume Jewelry Appreciation, I found I could buy to my heart's delight if I turned around and sold it, so a great deal went through my hands, along with many other types of collectibles. Oh how I wish I'd kept all the jewelry! As mani has said, it's small and doesn't take up space, and at the prices I paid, I didn't need to sell it, but it was fun anyway. Met a lot of interesting people and saw my 'stuff' go to Hollywood and Tippecanoe's and such. I had a lot of Hollywood set designers, costumers, show up first early Saturday mornings to get my 'stuff,' but I digress.

I have a little bakelite, a little junk jewelry, and stuff, as has been said by others, I just can't let go. Old friends, and amazing little pieces of art.

When I get settled for a few weeks back at the ranchito, I'll try my hand at photographing pieces to share here. Can't wait- I'm excited about sharing with folks who understand What I'm Talkin' About!
