WINGED CAT

Photobucket
Posted by Lisa Katayama, August 28, 2008 8:00 AM | permalink

Winged cats have been known to exist since the 19th century in western China, but only a handful of people have actually seen—let alone owned—one. This woman in Sichuan province watched as her beloved kitty grew angel wings on his back last summer after a bunch of female cats tried to mate with him. "Many female cats in heat came to harass him, and then the wings started to grow," she said.

Geneticists have a less romantic theory. They believe it could be a genetic defect, a skin condition, or the result of poor grooming.

Pre-knowledge? Warning?

Five or six years ago I was working as an academic advisor at a major university (I'm still at the university but not an advisor any more). We had a potential student show up interested in applying for our graduate program. Clean shaven, well dressed, polite, the sort of person who looked like he would do well as a student...until he opened his mouth, that is. He wanted to work with one particular professor (I'll call her Professor X) so that he could 'remove all the sensors the government had implanted in his brain.' Needless to say, he was not granted admission. Unfortunately, he wasn't the sort of guy who would listen to reason, and he wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. He was a constant source of unease for several weeks, becoming more and more agitated. Because of his irrational thoughts and behavior, we all had panic buttons installed in our offices. He finally went away, to the relief of us all.

Fast forward to earlier this week when out of the blue he popped into my head with one of those "I wonder where this guy is" kind of thoughts, and a little shiver down my spine.

This morning I learned that two days ago he was released from a mental hospital in another state. For some reason, the police there had cause to go into his apartment where they found, among other things, Professor X's photograph on his wall with a big red X marked through her face. Thanks to their communication with the police here, we are currently on alert that he may (or may not) be headed this way.

That's all very interesting and a little scary, but what really interests me is the fact that he popped into my head at about the time he was released from the mental institution. What a strange, strange world we live in!

Wish we could all meet

I was just on my Georgia Friends group and they were talking about getting together, again. We all live in Ga so that is not too hard for us. But this group is spread out. It would be wonderful to meet and do some ghost hunting, together. My friend and I have been talking about doing just that. We live close to a lot of Civil War sites and old plantation sites. But you have to be careful where you go at night in the city. I have had several experiences here. Just daydreaming but it would be fun.

The Silver Cord

I posted this in the other group, and then thought I'd post it here to get opinions from this group. I thought it was interesting.....

I have been reading a book titled "We Are Eternal" written by medium Robert Brown, and he mentioned the silver cord. I had nearly forgotten about this cord and am wondered how it fit in with the scheme of things we have been discussing and mulling over. In some ways it makes perfect sense, and then thinking a little more, it sounds totally impossible!
This is what Robert Brown says about it:
"It does go some way to bear out what most people are beginning to believe, that we humans are more than physical. It has long been suggested that apart from the physical body we have a secondary body, often referred to as the beta body. Many people maintain that this beta body is the seat of the soul, the real you! The beta body is connected to the physical body by what has frequently been referred to as "the silver cord" (which gets its name, by the way, from the biblical phrase "or ever the silver cord be loosed").

"While the physical body is alive, the two are connected, and in some people this cord can be extremely elastic, allowing the beta body to occasionally roam far away from the physical body, while still being attached by the cord. Many people believe that this theory helps explain the many near-dear experiences people have had. In some spiritually developed beings, as in the case of the late Italian monk Father Pio, the beta body is witnessed in one location when it was known that the monk was physically in another place. This phenomenon has also been said to be observed in the Indian mystic Sai Baba.

"It is only when that silver cord is actually severed that death, as we understand it, occurs and the physical body ceases to be. But though our physical bodies may die, the beta, the real you, continues. It is the real you that some people known as mediums are able to connect with.

"Physical mediums have the blessing of having a developed, "loose" beta body, and it is from this beta body that the spirit world is able to draw the energy called ectoplasm and mold it into what has been called a temporary voice box. It is believed that this ectoplasmic voice box is what is used by spirits when they communicate in such a way as direct voice mediumship."

Any comments??

Ghosts may not spook home buyers

Sites of murders or suicides often sit on the market, but reports of friendly apparitions don't seem to scare some people.
By Holden Lewis, Bankrate.com

Oh, no, not the attic. Anywhere but the attic. But the visitors insisted on going in.

The house's owner reluctantly opened the attic door and stepped aside as her two visitors trod into the gloomy room.

"All I know is we walked into the attic with her, and it's cavernous, and we were just looking hard, and, I don't know, this feeling came over me -- this warm feeling," Craig Schaible says. "I looked at my wife and she felt it, too."

Lady in Cabinet

This is real creepy!!! The explanation is:

"This photo was taken on a film camera not a digital camera so apologies for the quality as it is a scan of the original photograph.

"My husband and I planned a dinner at my mother in law's house one week before our wedding, for our bridal party to get to know each other. The photo here is of my mother in law Anke in the middle and from the left my bridesmaids Lisa, Amy, Charmaine, Natasha (and me hiding behind the hanging light). The best man took the shot and we were the only ones in the room at the time. We are in my mother in law's living room and my groom and his three other groomsmen were all outside at the time.

"There is an image of a strange lady coming from the glass in the cabinet to the left of Lisa. Noone knows who this lady is and she was definitely not invited along for the night. The cabinet is an antique from France, I am not sure what year but is very very old. There are only pieces of china and trinkets in this cabinet and no picture frames or photos of any sort. To this day the face remains a mystery to us all.

"You be the judge."
