Tough Questions & Answers Mantra

Argument is to me the air I breathe. Given any proposition, I cannot help believing the other side and defending it. – Gertrude Stein

Here in TQ&A we have some ground rules. Name-calling and ridiculing are strictly prohibited and can cause you to be barred from the group.

Please don’t bring animosity from other groups. Each person here is judged by their behavior here, period.

1) Postings and replies MUST follow the EONS TOU: view link
2) All discussions are welcome, heated or not.
3) We WILL NOT call each other names.
4) We WILL NOT ridicule each other’s posts.
5) We WILL talk about most anything we want. If you don’t like it, just leave it alone.
6) Remember these two words whenever you feel yourself losing control. Walk Away.
7) Have fun!
8) And if you find yourself growing tired of any subject that you see here, you can certainly find the door. You don’t have to stay, read and get frustrated or insulted. Just like with TV, you can CHANGE THE CHANNEL.

Thanks – the management.

Religious Intolerance, can we do this?

After the thread yesterday and all of the ensuing BS, I have decided to repost this topic.

Now, I'd like to think that we, as a group, CAN discuss religious intolerance without jumping all over each other.

So, state your cass, but let's try REALLY HARD not to attack each other.

Can you say "in my opinion"?

Let's just start all over and see what happens.

I'm trusting you folks...

Disappointment

With all the mud-slinging, its really hard to trace the tone of the campaign directtly to the candidates.

But I stopped by McCain's website last night to look up one of his policied.

Prominently on the front page was a big collection of "attack" points against Biden. This will serve nicely those that prefer to attack the opposing candidate instead of promoting your choice. There was also an ad courting heart-broken Hillary supporters.

A quick look at his blog with this last 3 campaign ads-- all negative.

Nice guy?

Did you see the 2 rousing speeches tonight?

Bill Clinton and Joe Biden ROCKED the house. Then, Obama came for a quick little surprise visit.

Great speeches... anyone see 'em?

Would you vote for a non-Christian for president?

There are many non-Christian groups in the world... who ever said the president of the US had to be a Christian?

Would you vote for a Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Wiccan, Druid, you name it... if the question was never asked, would you feel the need to know before voting for a person?

Remember, this question is just about you and your relationship to presidential "qualifications".

Are Bush's policies working??

Do you think they'll try to tell us that their policies are working??? Or maybe that the economy is "fundamentally sound"??

About 12.5 percent of the population fell below the official federal poverty threshold of $21,203 for a family of four last year, the census data showed, a figure that was not statistically different than in 2006. The number of children in poverty increased, however, by 500,000 to 13.3 million.

Meanwhile, the number of people without health insurance declined to 45.7 million from last year's record 47 million, the census report says.

About McCain...

Seems to me that the Rovian Machine has gotten hold of him and is attempting to make another puppet king.

What say you?

And if he does get elected... how much do you think he'll honor his commitments to the puppetiers? Or, will that be up to HIS Veep choice... and will that choice be made by McCain or the Machine?

WoW--Hillary!

Did you see that speech? I don't know what was more moving, her speech, or watching President Clinton with tears in his eyes. He was the very picture of PROUD! I'm high on the possibilities!

Hello, I have a suggestion

Hi all,.

I just read all the responses to the Religious Intolerance thread. As always I commend this group for allowing everyone to have their say. All things considered, it is truly an achievement!

I wish to ask all those who will join me in watching both political conventions this week and next, that we dialog about what we experiehce. There is always room for what others see and hear!
