I've been missing this program with Bob Phillips. This morning I finally found it again. It comes on Channel 21 in Dallas-Fort Worth on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM,if you have never seen it you need to check it out. He goes to different towns in Texas and interviews people with interesting jobs or hobbies. Neat show!

First Deer
Her First Deer
As part of their "ranch" holiday, a guy takes his wife hunting. When they reach their deer blinds, the guy says, "If you shoot a deer, be sure you don't let anybody else say he's the one who shot it. Otherwise, he'll take the deer from you. The deer belongs to whoever shoots it."
The guy goes to his own blind. Ten minutes later, he hears his wife shooting from her blind nearby.
He rushes over and finds her pointing her rifle at a cowboy who's shouting, "Okay, lady, okay! You can have the deer! Just lemme get my saddle off it!"

Just wanted to thank all my great Texas Friends who thought about me, prayed for me, checked up on me, sent me notes of encouragement, and helped me in so many ways during my recent surgeries. If I missed thanking you individually, please forgive me... I can never take full responsibility for my brain the first week after surgery. All of your support means so much to me as I continue to recuperate, and I very much appreciate BeeGee, reikichic, and especially topazgram for stepping up to the plate to help out in the group. (Don't leave just yet, topaz!) I'm looking forward to complete mobility by the end of the year and to a great time in San Antonio on the Riverwalk with my Texas Friends!
Texas Musical
I've been there several times in my lifetime. I remember the first time, I was in high school. The Director was Mr. Hess, the drama teacher from Tascosa H.S. He was the Director up until a few years ago when they fired him for no good reason.
I knew several of the cast members in the late 70's since I went to school with them.
There were people there from as far away as Africa, India, Russia, and Asia. They used to serve BBQ from Dyers BBQ. Now, from what the billboards are showing, The Big Texan is doing the meal. Their food is good.
Those coming need to get your tickets in advance and get there as early as possible.
You will not be disappointed.

Name Game (Texas Towns)
I saw this game on another list and thought it would be fun, if we could only use the names of Texas towns.
For example - my first town would be Abilene - then the next person posting would post the name of a town that starts with the last letter of the last town posted - ie, Abilene, then the next town named would start with E.
Wonder how long we could keep this going before we run out of Texas Towns!
