Hiding from the heat????

It sure has been hot here this summer and it isn't going to let up any time soon. This heat has had one benefit...I have been able to catch up on my reading and projects.

Has the heat outside helped you to do something that has been put off? Have you been hibernating and found a new hobby? Did the heat drive you to distracions, if so what kinds????

Let's spill all the juicy details! What have you been doing this summer? What have we learned?

too quiet here!!!

Hey we have been too quiet here. Is it the heat? Or are we jut wrapped up in Summer time fun? Well, I have a few questions to propose.

My first question is.....

I have lots of books because I collect certain authors and series. I also collect books because I use them my writing. Now you know my deep dark secret...I'm a bookaholic...how do I keep these hard back criters from over taking my small one bedroom apartment. I am on a fixed income and can't afford new furniture. Right now they are on plastic modular shelving and are stacked/rowed three deep.

Any ideas???????? Please??????? Help???????

What I learned A to Z Game

How about a game to start the group off???
Learning is life long and what one learns as a child stays with us for our whole life so how about a game that challenges us to think back a few years (yeah...I know...a few too many years!).
Let's try to name activities, games, and special learning events we remember from our childhood.

I will start us off in the first reply.

Hey

Hey there rosie, glad to see you back :)

Keeping cool is my number one goal. That means doing outside stuff early in the morning, & doing inside stuff for the rest of the day.

Keeping cool mentally is realizing that most annoyances or inconveniences of daily life just aren't that important in the big scheme of things. You have to try to keep things in proper perspective, so you don't spin your wheels.

Need your input

Put on your thinking caps! I need your ideas.
I am writing a mystery book. In the plot a man who vanishes without a trace thirty years ago suddenly comes back to his small home town and ends up dead in an old cemetary. In his back pack which is hnidden in a run down shack in the woods, are the only belongings he brought with him. I have a clue in that backpack that my ladies will have to figure out. It is coded and that is my problem.
I need a simple code that my victim could use that would lead the ladies to a hiding place where he has stashed his incriminating eveidence. My fictious town is old and had many vacant building and is located up in the Arkansas mountains...very rural and sparsely populated but with a townful of eccentrics.
Any ideas on what type of simple codes. These townfolk are just regular people...no military backgrounds or mathematicians. Just plain old folks.
The notes will have to give directions to a place but can't be blatantly obvious.
Thanks for all your help!!!!

Welcome Josette1959

Glad you found us & decided to join. Things have been pretty quiet in here lately - I guess the summer heat has killed all curiosity, lol! If you have a question or just want to contribute something, please do!
