Welcome Everyone!!

Glitter Graphics & Comments

I want to welcome you all here!!
My “handle is “rltnspd” which has been with me since the early 90’s, and I am the manager of this group. I am glad to be here to help you and to join in the fun for all of us who are Military, Ex military, Current Federal and Former Federal Employees! We have a fun bunch of friends here in this group, and I think that we can even have more fun!

There are no rules, per se, except to be kind to one another. It's ok to argue, discuss, fuss, joke, tease but please no attacks on persons or religions.

I would love it if you stop by and visit my profile and get to know me. Drop me a line and/or invite me as your friend and I will let you in. I have made my profile private because I have had some problems with some younger people, and I would rather not go there. I had a fifteen year old yeterday that wanted to be my friend… I don’t think so.
I have been a federal employee (Federal Police Officer) since 1985 and I currently work in the Regional Federal Police Dispatch Center here in Denver, (Denver MegaCenter).

I hope you all are having a great day, and I look forward to many great times together in this great group.

PRAYER REQUEST

please, I would ask you keep in your hearts prayers and
healing energy for a family here in Michigan. Their 21yr old
son took his service revolver and committed suicide at the
beginning of the week, rather than return to Iraq on his morning
flight. He was a friend to my twins, also 21.

My heart grieves for his family (and all our families impacted by
this bludgeoning war)......services will be Tuesday and I'm praying
for the strength to go with them for support.

God hold him dear and close where there is no more pain.

FROM JCC...A MEMORIAL

Navy Petty Officer Mike Monsoor

PO2 (EOD2) Mike Monsoor, a Navy EOD Technician, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously for jumping on a grenade in Iraq , giving his life to save his fellow SEALs.

During Mike Monsoor's funeral in San Diego , as his coffin was being moved from the hearse to the grave site at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery , SEALs were lined up on both sides of the pallbearers route forming a column of twos, with the coffin moving up the center. As Mike's coffin passed, each SEAL, having removed his gold Trident from his uniform, slapped it down embedding the Trident in the wooden coffin.
The slaps were audible from across the cemetery; by the time the coffin arrived grave side, it looked as though it had a gold inlay from all the Tridents pinned to it. This was a fitting send-off for a warrior hero.

This should be front-page news instead of the crap we see every day.

Since the media won't make this news, I choose to make it news by forwarding it onto you guys. I am proud of our military and the men and women who serve in it. They represent the highest and finest values of this country.

Go in safety and be at peace Mine... Paula Rice

Thank you JCC

A HEADS UP FROM MARV

UPDATE FROM COMMUNITY GIRL

Now you can connect with your cousin from Canada or your friend from France on Eons! Starting tomorrow, 7/11, the Eons sign up process will allow people of different countries to join Eons.

This change came about from recognizing that our members may have friends and relatives in other countries that they may wish to connect with on Eons. Additionally, Eons recently partnered with Earthwatch view link who is a worldwide community dedicated to conserving the environment. Know that Eons will continue to focus on marketing to the United States and offer its site in the English language only.

As part of the new sign up process, members have a choice of either entering their U.S. zip code, or choosing a country and entering an optional postal code. If a person has already signed up for Eons and lives outside the United States, they may change the incorrect zip code to their country via the Account Settings page.

July 4th Independence for ALL Ages

INDEPENDENCE is certainly a concept that goes beyond a holiday, a day off from work, a day for picnics and parades and fireworks.

Besides the fact that July 4th represents our country’s “birth,” our severance from ”Mother England, and the oppressive nature of that colonial relationship, INDEPENDENCE represents for each and every one of the citizens of this country the FREEDOMs and RIGHTs that we guaranteed ourselves by Constitutional Amendments that were ratified by the several states as part of the agreement to accept the new Constitution drafted by the Convention in Philadelphia back in 1787-88.

Those FREEDOMs and RIGHTs are put to the test DAILY when it comes to Aging Americans and their LIFESTYLES. What expectations do you have of a decent retirement, of a decent standard of living, of a decent level of medical care, of a decent quality of life, of a decent dignity in death, and a decent burial?

I believe it is our continuing responsibility as active older Americans to remind this generation, and the next, and the one coming after that, of the very real obligations they carry toward their elders and that we are to be honored, not endured; that we are a blessing to them, not a burden.

I say it is Our responsibility because we, as active older Americans still have a voice, and we can demand to be heard. I’ve heard that one out of every four voters (people who actually VOTE) are members of AARP. There is tremendous strength in those numbers, and we have the power to positively affect the way we (and our descendents) are treated and cared for in America for decades to come. Let’s be united. Let’s ensure that our own INDEPENDENCE is respected and guaranteed.

ICE

Hello everyone. This was posted on another group that I belong to, but I thought that it was important enough to post here as well.

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends.

If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call.

The concept of 'ICE' is catching on quickly WORLDWIDE. It is a method of contact during emergency situations.

As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name 'ICE' (In Case Of Emergency).

The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose.

In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as ‘ICE.'

For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2, ICE3, etc.
A great idea that will make a difference! Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!

ICE will speak for you when you are not able to.
